Another solid offering from Pipeworks- the more I taste from them the more impressed I get. This Belgian ale is an interesting offering, with yeasty and basement aromas on the nose. Pours medium yellow with a nice white foamy top, rather sticky and with great retention. At a sessionable ABV, I could have enjoyed this all evening. Thanks to tastybeer for sharing this to start off a low key tasting. It s not the most exciting beer. However as a light table beer that is easy going it is perfect. I will definitely continue to keep an eye on Pipeworks going forwards.
Aroma / Appearance - The fluffy white head and golden carbonated base reveal this to be a light session beer. The hints of brett in the lemon zest do the same.
Flavor / Palate - The solid kick of brett is carried by a malt wave. Warm applesauce is distracting for a second. The finish though more than makes up for its flaws. A (mostly) well rounded release I would love to see more breweries trying to do these light styles. With such low ABV and minimal ingredients it takes a skilled brewer indeed to pull it off.
Bottle. Straw gold pour, big white head, good retention/some lace. Aroma of lemon, citrus, grass, bread, fruity ester, light dust. Taste is light, bready, stone, citrus, lemon. Palate is very dry, soft, light bitter finish. Excellent. jtclockwork (17631) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 12, 2013
Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours apricot gold with white head. Nose and taste of citrus, sugared mango, lemon, Belgian yeast, citrus zest and spicy bready malt. Medium body. holdenn (2127) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 22, 2013
On tap at Goldencrust and Tap. Pours a hazed yellow with a white head. Nose of grass, hay, herbs, and lemons. Earthy grassy herbal flavors. Light malt with some herbal bitterness. This might be better on a hot summer day but it’s not bad during this long Chicago winter.

Cool brew here. Thanks for the hookup, playa. Poured out a slightly hazy yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is big lemon and citrus, like sprite, with some yeast and bread. Lightly spicy. A bit soapy. Flavor is big citrus, lemon/lime, some light bread and Belgian yeast, spice. Good stuff. Chipalsa (1310) - Florida, USA - MAR 16, 2013

Appearance - Hazy yellow, creamy head
Aroma - Floral hops, orange peel, aloe
Taste - Grapefruit, flower, sprite, yeast
This reminded me of Orval quite a bit. The citrus zest really gave off a tropical quality with bitter Belgian influences. Thanks for sharing this one, OmegaX.
Aroma is citrus/lemon, yeast and an undercurrent of malts. The flavor is citrus (a hint of pulp to it in the texture), slightly sweet malts and a tart finish. Very drinkable. kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Bottle. Pours a deep hazy golden with a tan soapy white head. Citrus and lemongrass aroma with a sweet floral flavor. Highly carbonated. Good beer. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Draft at Jerry’s. Pale yellow with modest white head / Stylish nose of malo, cream, lemon, pineapple, and a little funky earthiness? / Light body, crisp and dry, just a hint of sweetness, somewhat creamy, excellent balance with good bitter finish / Dry, elegant flavors of lemon, pineapple, passion fruit, straw, clove, and coriander / A great, summery (I wish) session beer.
