Pours a deep mahogany with a half finger head that dissipates slowly. Had aromas of licorice, alcohol, cherries, raisins, and citrusy hop notes. Taste had a lot going on. Lots of malty flavors, and a bitter finish. None of it seemed to mesh very well, almost like these flavors were not compatible. I wasn’t impressed by this one.
Bottle at THT tasting. Old note. The aroma has caramel, resinous hops, fruit. Bit hazy, orange coloure dbeer with a thin, off-white head. The taste is light-medium bitter and sweet, has caramel, resin, dried fruit. Medium-full bodied beer. nice. JPDIPSO (6216) - Wauwatosa, USA - APR 3, 2016
Dark copper to umber color. Big fresh hops aromas in front with pine and citrus. Backdrop has some earthy grains, toffee, alcohol and licorice. Lightly sweet start, with some lightly toasted malt. Tropical fruit works its way in. Quite bitter in the middle with licorice and pine. Sticky resin in the finish that distracts and does not let the malt return. A touch unbalanced. 11/12
