The Blue Lady is a very sour girl, sure to bring a pucker to your lips. She starts with a traditional sour mash to bring out her tart side. After fermentation we introduce her to one hundred and fifty pounds of fresh blueberries from our friends at Seedling Farm. The result is a beautifully colored sour ale with a layer of blueberry flavor.

Not as good as I was expecting. Was not aware of low scores going in, and I’d liked the one beer I’d had from here before. Pretty weak feel, thin and prickly. Blueberry flavor is nice but the cheesiness is confused - is this a Berliner trying and failing to be a lambic? Not bad, but not good.

Bottle... Pours hazy and burnt-orange with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is a collection of all things fruity, funky, grainy and acidic. Light-bodied and raspy with Champagne-like carbonation. The flavor is sour and fruity with an astringent and Sahara-dry finish. Bottle generously shipped my way by BBB63!

Pours a gorgeous bright ruby unclear color with a pinkish white head. The aroma is light sweet tart and berries. The flavor opens up after a while bringing tart wheat notes indicative of the style with tart berry ending.

Poured a pale light blueish yellow color with some purple mixed in. Aromas of funky horse blanket, tart bluebarries, and some light funky cheese, i dig this for sure. Flavors were the same, got better after each sip, solid beer, should also mention that this bottle was from the first release (batch 31) and has sat in my fridge the entire time.

Bottle. Light pink pour with a white head. Blueberry and funk aromas. Mild blueberry and parmesan cheese highlights. Effervescent. Below average body and mouthfeel.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2014 Bottle: New batch, much better than the first I had. Ruby red grapefruit body, quick fading white head. Musty, damp aroma with some lemon acidity and very light blueberry. Flavor has a little blueberry, some fruit skin acidity, light tartness and a dry, musky finish. Yes, this has improved quite a bit since the last batch. Old rating: 5-3-5-4-9, 2.6 overall. It has lost the insane acetobacter, popcorn, & rotten cheese presence of batch one.

First sampled a vile, infected batch of this that was barely drinkable - dominated by acidic parmesan cheese. Thankfully, the next batch was much more drinkable. A nice sour ale with balanced acidity and fruit notes with a dry, puckering finish. Beware though, if you happen to try the infected batch, it’s worth giving this another chance.

Ah, the blue lady. Mild gusher, pours a medium reddish color. Nose is very intense bile and bad cheese. The palate is mildly tart, with lemon and bile flavors. The smell of this beer cleared the room.

Bottle at the 4k/5k/10k tasting, Pours reddish with a white head. Lightly tart and fruity, some blueberry sweetness, and a grainy/wheaty base. Very drinkable.

Bottle shared with friends. Pours a light blue color, slightly hazy. Aroma is a weird mix of blueberries, blue cheese and sour funk. Though that combo seemed a bit odd to me it didn’t really take away from the drinking experience, as I went back from 2nd’s. Nice solid beer!
