3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle pours cloudy pale orange with 2 finger head. Nose is grain, wheat, spice, hard taco shell, nachos. Taste is dry fluffy grain, lemon rind, citrus, dusty hay, chalk. Finish is dry slightly tart citrus, peppery spice, cereal.
bottle as shown, dork looking couple on the label .. . solid foam .. . mild tang and spelt .. light mouth and dead quick finish .. . a bit mundane .. . . no matter how I spin it, it’s fair to say my cotton candy diet has been a disappointment ClarkVV (6709) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 5, 2015

Typical fizzy pour that alludes to lots of adjuncts. For some reason, herbs and spices always seem to knock down the head. Whatever, the beer remains golden and unfiltered but in wonderful form.
Slightly sugary/wafery notes emanate, followed by what I take as rosemary, though apparently it’s chamomille(sp?). Anyways, it’s none too funky or anything. I won’t say it’s sadly just another overspiced saison, but....
Flavor has very strong herbal overtones; spicy to the max with some not completely dried out malt sweetness. It’s too bad, this is one year old but seems like it could go the distance right up there with Saison de Pipaix. The beer itself, body, mouthfeel and structure are all nearly perfect. So in that regard, I’m not surprised this is a Pipeworks beer, but they were a bit heavy handed with the herbs and lemon. Perhaps they just wanted the beer to go the distance, though I cant imagine anyone drinking this at the wedding was terribly blown away. To its credit, at 8% abv, this isnt trying to be the next saison dupont clone, but it’s still too much spice for me to truly enjoy. Whatever, still love this brewery. If anyone wants to cellar a bottle for like 4-5 years, definitely sign me up for a tasting then. I’m sure this stuff will be dynamite.

Hazy gold beer, huge fluffy white head. Palate is airy and semi dry with fine carbonation. Smooth floralness, white flowers. Balanced by a light lemony citrus. Light airy finish brings a little dry malt cream. Simple but decent and quaffable.
Bottle. Poured a hazy orange yellow color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy spice, citrus and yeast aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. I would recommend and shared with friends. alexsdad06 (10434) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 14, 2014
750 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy golden orange color with very little head. The aroma and flavor have lemony citrus, floral notes, sticky sweet, bubblegum, soft carbonation, softer finish, good flavor some mild herbal bitterness to the finish.

750 ml bottle to taster (shared by Tmoney99). Looks good; a very slightly hazy gold with white head. Smells of lemon, tea, and mild yeast. Tastes like it smells with a semi-sweet backbone and a medium-bodied mouthfeel that’s on the dryer side. A good saison. Johnsense (1676) - - APR 9, 2014
A herbal beer if there ever was one. Hazy gold colour, good head and lacing. Aroma and taste are lemon and chamomile tea, which I enjoy drinking at night. hot, without carbonation. Maybe I should have drank it from a mug? Sammy (12210) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 6, 2014
Herbal saison, big chamomile and lemon myrtle. Fresh aroma in head.

750 mL bottle. Pours a cloudy, straw-yellow, fluffy white head with excellent retention and decent lacing (reading some of the other reviews, I’m wondering how clean their glassware was... or if they were slathering on the chapstick). Nose is floral (lilies and daffodils... like those bulbs poking up out front in the concrete slab full of dirt, which is what people in my neighborhood call the ’front yard’), yeasty funk, honey, hay, lemon peel, slight medicinal like gum arabic, and a touch metallic. Mouth is creamy and medium bodied, doughy, lemon zest, spicy yeast funk, lightly sweet, grassy chamomile, pleasant bitterness at the finish. Nice Saison to remind me Spring is here -- even if it is in the 30s and I’m watching hockey rather than baseball (think the Sox are in a delay anyway).
