22 oz. bottle from Binny’s South Loop. Pours a clear amber light brown with a medium sized white head that leaves some spotty lace. The aroma has the signature of the citra hops; big orange, tangerine, and tropical fruit notes, some of the ground peels thrown in, with caramel and some lightly toasted malts flying under the radar. The flavor had more of a malt presence to balance the assertive citra hops. Nice tangerine, orange and tropical fruits, toasted malts, caramel, and some pithy and mild resiny notes. The alcohol serves to warm, but is not very noticeable in the flavor. I am glad to have picked this up shortly after hitting the shelves. Very good.

22oz bottle, Citra BOMB. Orange pour, light white head. Huge citrus aroma. Tropical fruits with a heavy caramel backbone.

Bottle. Pours amber gold with white head. Nose and taste of fresh citrus, grapefruit rind, caramel malt, orange rind, mango pit and tropical fruits. Taste is an earthy/slightly herbal feel to it. Finishes dry pine/resin/birch sap. Medium body.

This one is quite good. Does not live up to the Ninja Vs Unicorn but still great. Really tropical with assertive bitterness and a fair amount of boozy presence that detracts a bit. Not the perfect balance for a DIPA that NVU had but nonetheless it drinks good.

Pours amber orange. Nose full of citrus and pin. Tons of hop on the tongue but actually smooths out on the finish. Purchased the beer in November and drank in December. May need to drink a bit fresher but still a good ipa.

Beautiful golden pour with generous head. Citrus and floral nose with slight bitter hint. Great balance of sweet citrus hop with a back of toasty malt. burnt orange peel and grass hide any alcohol burn. Superb.

It’s hard to go wrong with the auto-tune of hops but not everyone nails it this well. Amazing nose full of fresh lively citrus and tropical fruit character. Another perfectly attenuated imperial pale from pipeworks that is the perfect compliment to the aggressive hopping. Moderately high carbonation level plays nicely resinous, somewhat sticky mouthfeel.

Nice clarity. Aroma is good and hoppy. Tastes great, not as bitter as some other Double IPAs. Fairly dry. Finishes clean.

It’s like a ninja eating an orange. In my mouth. Woody tropical citrus darkness, like cat piss in my basement.

From bottle shared by ryandevilhorns. Golden orange pour with tiny white head. Aroma is citrus, cream, and cat urine. Taste is very interesting...initially sharp and hoppy followed by a citrus sweetness.
