Batch#57 bomber poured jet black into Duvel tulip leaving a thick 1 finger very dark khaki/brown head with some decent lacing.
Piney hops on the nose followed by some dark chocolate notes
Hops again up front hitting the tongue then some creamy roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate wrapping up with the piney hops coming back on the finish. Malts became more pronounced as the hoppy double stout warmed up balancing the beer abit more. Liked it the more I drank it. Good shtuff. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAR 5, 2013
bottle. blackish brown pour, small brownish head. Resiny piney hops outweigh the roasted malt backbone. Great hop profile, solid mouthfeel. Very nice Black IPA gregwilsonstl (2466) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Smokey pretty thin body. Oily. Balanced. I couldnít drink too many of these...kind of wreck the palate. AWISLguy (3016) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 22, 2013
Bomber from Fischmanís. Pours a foamy dark black with a brownish cola-colored head. Nice lacing from all the foam. Aroma has a metallic, herbal presence with bakers chocolate and citrusy wood. Taste is of sweet malt, dark bitter chocolate, expresso, an earthy woodiness and some metal. Finishes bittersweet with a touch of an off flavor. There were glimpses of what it was trying to be, but what it is was not there. beernbourbon (1590) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Bottle. Pour is black with a thin brown head. Aroma is as one would expect with loads of roasty malt and a ton of pine and resinous hop notes. Hops dominate. Flavor is a bit too much. Hops dominate to the point of getting in the way. Just too much resin and pine here for me. The roasted malt is almost eliminated. I think this can be great, itís just not yet. More malt or a different hop profile might help.

Batch #57 via Rxeight! Really enjoyed this beer. Such a great smooth hop aroma floral & pine. Nice roasty malts, mild coffee aromatics. Great smoothness in the taste. Overall, very happy with this brew! Cant wait to try more! weihenweizen (3748) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - JAN 29, 2013
Refrigerated brown bomber obtained through trade with joepeesie, poured into a tulip. Pours black with dark brown hightlights with medium light brown head. Little lacing, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and off green herbal hop aroma. Taste is coffee, dark bitter chocolate, some anise, all right (not great) herbal hops, and bitter hop finish. Not my thing, but not bad for the style. Dogbrick (12918) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Bottle from batch #23 shared by a friend. Brownish-black pour with a medium foamy khaki head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is hoppy with some toasted malt notes. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, roasted malt and a bit of dark chocolate. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall. alexsdad06 (10268) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 3, 2013
22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours dark brown in color with a small khaki head. The aroma has roasted malts, chocolate, dark berries, pine resin and a hint of espresso. The flavor has a great combination of roasted malts and pine resiny hops. Dark chocolates, milk chocolates, berries, espresso and earthy. Moderate bitterness to the finish. douglas88 (9056) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 2, 2013
Bomber. Batch 57. Pours a totally black hue with a large brown head. A rich nose of roast and fruity and pine hops. A rich fruity hop mix, bitter chocolates, roast, porter flavors, distinctly a BIPA, sweet pine, very balanced. I even get tobacco and more bitter fruit. Very well done. I slightly prefer Dubhe, but this is excellent.
