Batch 10. A deep dark stout with a thick frothy lacing brown head. In aroma, nice chocolate malt with loads of licorice, coffee grind, musty character, light vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of coffee grind, musty character, light vanilla and light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth, considering this is more 4 years old. salvaticas (932) - - APR 9, 2017
Can pour. Pours a jet black. Mix of hops and malt on the nose. Smooth drinking, more malty than hoppy. Kind of like a smooth hoppy porter. Nice!

On tap at The Ginger Man, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt upfront, with a fair amount of bitter hops, booze and liqueur-like notes. Flavour is similar, with lots of earthy hops and roasted malt. A bit muted and obscured, but decently balanced. I don’t understand the hype on this. The bar has this listed as 8.5%, so I assume this is the retired version. RasmusOtt (2841) - Aarhus, DENMARK - JUN 23, 2016
Can. Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma of citrussy hops, roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, citrus fruits and pine. The taste is roasted with smooth cocoa notes along with some citrussy hops, grapefruit and some slight coffee. Very good! Cousin_Larry (895) - - JUN 9, 2016
Sample at WOBFest 2016. Light body despite the black color and moderate alcohol content.

it’s juicy and fruity red. it also is dark with a bit of MEALY fine grit and ashy roast. (but not very ashy) it has a bitter lingering finish. it looks like cola with a mocha head. and a clear burp of ....DILL PICKLES!!! IT’S THAT funky malt. live cans at whole foods Chelsea NYC. OH YEAH BIG PINE HOP. ChiGuy68 (609) - Illinois, USA - DEC 10, 2015
Tasted from a pint can. It poured an opaque blackish/brown with a thick cascading frothy brown head and solid lacing. Chocolate malt aroma that the hops fight to punch through. Oh D-Lish! (1st sip). Powerful, complex, and well balanced. Roasted malt, chocolate, and bitter hops on the buds. Not one for the typical hophead, but if you also dig a bold stout, this is defiantly a treat.
