Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dusty coffee. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, coffee, chocolate, light chili fruit - earthy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bomber. A pitch black beer with a large, frothy/creamy, mostly lasting brown head. The aroma is modeartely to heavily malty (roasted grain, coffee, chocolate), lightly to moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), with notes of alcohol, licorice, hint of berries and vanilla. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Full body, oily/creamy texture, soft carbonation, very long finish with moderate to heavy bitterness, moderately alcoholic. I wouldn’t say I’m surprised by the high quality, but all the other Pipeworks bottle scored approximately in the mid 3s or less. This one is pretty nicely balanced, without overbearing coffee, booze or sweetness. I was just in the mood for it. Pity for the price and the difficult availability. brystmar (1314) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 14, 2013
Pretty good, actually. Fresh cup of (average quality) coffee per glass blends well into the base. Solid. peteinSD (1469) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Bottle (batch 74). Black pour with a large, thick dark tan head. Aroma is light coffee, hop bitterness, chocolate roast, and pine. Taste is bitter coffee with hops, darker fruit notes underneath, roast, and vanilla. Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Damn hoppy imperial stout. Nice. Pours black, quick leaving head, cola like carbonation.
Smell fruity coffee and chocolaty stout. Roasty and no bitterness.
Taste a bit sweeter, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and roast.
I feel this drinks more like an imp porter than imp stout. Flavors mesh well together. Fairly simple but well done.

Bottle shared by Hopscotch. Dark brown pour with an off white head. Dark roasted malt and coffee aromas. Rich roasted malts, caramel, bitter chocolate, and strong black coffee notes. Above average mouthfeel and body. ICEatALAMO (1352) - Troy, Michigan, USA - AUG 24, 2013
Bottle. The pour is dark with a very light brown head that fades quickly. The aroma is coffee in your face, with some malt that comes through. The taste is very nice. Thicker than I was expecting, The coffee is not overpowering, a little boozy. Very nice beer. mnmike (1086) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 20, 2013
Bomber in a trade. Split into two snifters. Pitch black with mocha head. Good coffee here with the malty backbone. Pinball (12259) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 8, 2013
bottle from ølbutikken.
pitch dark, smooth large brown head.
roasted malts, vanilal beans, coffee, chocolate, moderate hops in the aroma. Quite smooth and dessert-like.
Flavor is herbal, roasted malts, coffee, balanced with hops, but very delicately, palate is very smooth, a "plain" very tasty imp stout with some coffee notes. aftertaste is coffee, chocolate, sort of like an espresso chocolate with a bit of roasted malts and hops.
