Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, bitter chocolate and earthiness. Paslaye was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of strong dry bitter coffee notes with some roasted malt is dominant. Taste is also dominated by strong dry coffee notes that also veered into astringency territory. Some black chocolate notes are also perceptible. Body is about average with nice level of carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad but coffee notes are almost too powerful for the overall balance of this beer.
