Aroma of roasted malt, wood, whiskey, vanilla, dark chocolate. Strong alcoholic whiskey taste with roasted malt and chocolate, fruity finish, with a robust roast and wood aftertaste. Beats the Danish Red Wine edition. JBPortland (1557) - Hampton Roads, Virginia, USA - APR 6, 2014
22oz bottle pours dark brown-black with small head. Nose is old wet coffee grounds and burnt roasty malt. Taste is roasty stale coffee, earthy dark coffee beans, some milk chocolate, subtle vanilla, nice smooth palate. There is a strange vegetal note mid way through the taste but it finishes with pretty good earthy roast coffee, creamer, and mocha notes. Something just a bit off here. Bottle shared by JBPortland ! Pours a deep umber color with a finger of khaki foam. The nose ebbs and flows with sweet chocolate sauce, creamy coffee and boozy abrasiveness. Flavors roll along with layers of chocolate sauce, green coffee, vanilla creme... but there is something a touch artificial about it that Im not completely digging. orangenblu62 (39) - Illinois, USA - APR 4, 2014
UPDATED: APR 5, 2014 Strong coffee aroma. Pour is black with quickly dissipating tan head. Initial taste of coffee with a high APV burn. Sweet finish. Minimal carbination. Would’ve liked a few more bubbles. If you don’t like coffee you won’t like this beer. Art (3219) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 2, 2014
GI Stout Fest 2014. Pours a dark brown-black with a medium brown head. Aroma is of roasted coffee but not crazy intense. The taste is bitter with some coffee flavor. Medium mouth feel.

Shared bomber, poured to snifters, and displayed a darkest brown color, with a modest layer of tan head foam, and light dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was subtle, but noticeable enough notes of roasted malt, mocha, and vanilla. Medium bodied, with low carbonation, low hop bitterness, hidden alcohol, and pleasant sweetness into the finish. Not wowed, but decently drinkable. budznsudz (583) - Audubon, New Jersey, USA - MAR 23, 2014

Bottle thanks to FullObs. Batch 248/250/252, about 4 months old. Pours very dark brown with a small head that quickly fades to a thin ring. Aroma is nice fresh light roasted coffee, some light sweet lactose, vanilla, cocoa, and caramel. Coffee is the dominant taste and there’s a great sweet/bitter balance. Chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and light burnt wood make it through well too. Solid coffee stout that hides the high abv very well.
