Tasted on 6/23/14 from a capped 22oz bomber bottle sent to me in a trade. Pours a very thick, nearly black, dark brown with a thick, smooth brown head that slowly recedes to a thick collar of lace. The nose is almost exactly like a mocha with a touch of vanilla, plenty of dark chocolate, deep, dark espresso, and plenty of roast with a hint of vanilla. The flavor is the same sweet-ish vanilla tinged mocha with tons of milky dark chocolate and bitter, deep espresso. The body is super full, one of the creamiest beers I have ever had, with average, but smooth carbonation, and a very long touch of vanilla, mocha finish.
Inky black pour with a tan head. Lovely nose of cinnamon tinged coffee and dark bittersweet chocolate with a tinge of nougat. Big dark and smooth flavor with little bits of dark chocolate and coffee, a kiss of dark warm alcohol phenols, and a slightly coffee’d finish. Pretty nice Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 15, 2017
On tap @ The Gingerman. This one has a deeper dark almost cola brown looking body. On the top there’s a sidesticking medium sized darker brown head. Smelling it I get a rush of really good coffee and rich chocolate. A little toasted nuts, chicolate cake. Roasted and rich aromas. Nice. Tastes delicious also. A little on the sweet side initially, but a hefty roasted almost ashy charred tail kills that nicely. It feels good oily in the mouth and it’s just below average on the prickling carbonation. Lots and lots of chocolate powder here, cocoa and coffee mocha. A little alco sting in the back of the throat. Taste has roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, alcohol, chocolate.
Medium thick bod, good carbonation.

Draft at Tivoli Brewing Tap House. Black appearance with a tan head, mostly dissipating. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt and light earth. Similar flavor, rich, dark and malty with moderate sweetness and light to mild bitterness. Medium to full body with a lasting bttersweet finish.
