17-MAY-2013, bottle @Ølbutikken with Ulkløbben.
Dark, dark brown with low tan head.
Hard roasted aroma with dry coffee, vanilla and molasses.
Taste the same. Dry coffee, and more coffee.
Nice full body and average carbonation. Bov (13219) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUN 25, 2013
from Erzbierschof - black beer under a persistent dark beige foam; correct lacework; very roasted maltiness with a strong aroma of coffee and ashes; hints of vanilla stay in the background; full-bodied and pretty thick; creamy palate, solidly bitter, fair notes of vanilla appear in the finish along with more coffee - robust and well-made Slayer85 (1051) - Firenze, ITALY - SEP 15, 2013
Bomber. A pitch black beer with a large, frothy/creamy, mostly lasting brown head. The aroma is modeartely to heavily malty (roasted grain, coffee, chocolate), lightly to moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), with notes of alcohol, licorice, hint of berries and vanilla. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Full body, oily/creamy texture, soft carbonation, very long finish with moderate to heavy bitterness, moderately alcoholic. I wouldn’t say I’m surprised by the high quality, but all the other Pipeworks bottle scored approximately in the mid 3s or less. This one is pretty nicely balanced, without overbearing coffee, booze or sweetness. I was just in the mood for it. Pity for the price and the difficult availability.

22oz bottle from Binny’s Lincoln Park. Batch #66. Pours a black body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is pretty awesome. Lots of espresso and fresh coffee, but plenty of the base to keep things balanced. Rich chocolates, resiny and citrusy pine hops, roasts, and a bit of a vanilla cream showing up. Flavor is big and bold with lots of espresso, citrusy pine hops, rich milky and dark chocolates, roasts, and some more vanilla cream. Finishes moderately bitter with lots of citrus pines, plenty of coffee, a good amount of roasts, and lots of plump chocolates. Lengthy aftertaste following a full, very smooth body and a creamy, medium-light carbonation. Overall, this was pretty damn good and by far my favorite from these guys yet. Big and rich with plenty of citrusy hops and roasts from the original, but lots of coffee that compliments the base extremely well while never overpowering. Drink this one fresh to get the most out of it. Awesome beer. thedm (6308) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - FEB 22, 2013
This bottled brew from a rating party poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark brown colored body and a fair lacing. . The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering mild roasted malt aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of mildly vinous roasted malt coffee brown malt and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again. msante79 (2225) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Bomber from Binny’s Des Plaines. Finally bit the bullet and picked this one up and glad I did. Pours near black with dark tan head. Aromas of sweet espresso, dark chocolate, and deeply roasted malts. Flavors of sweet coffee, chocolate, nicely roasted malts, and finishes with nice hop bitterness. This beats the shit out of regular abduction. Super pumped for the raspberry edition. Nicely done boys. Frink138 (2) - Illinois, USA - MAR 13, 2013 does not count
Terrific all around. The kind of beer you look froward to all day and gain satisfaction from as you pour it thick and black into your glass. Wonderful aroma with a taste to match. Everything I want in a coffee stout.
