Thanks Justin for this gift from Chicago. Pours a smooth black with dark head. Aromas are predominately dark roast coffee with notes of bitter chocolate. Flavours follow suit. Lots of coffee, some lactose and chocolate. Not getting a lot of vanilla with this though. Very nice imperial stout. rami_pl (3455) - Warszawa, POLAND - OCT 29, 2016

Very grapefruit citrus hop forward - lots of coffee and milk chocolate. Has a holiday spice note or two in there. Tasted cleanly bitter, medium roasted fresh coffee, and chocolates. Great hoppy stout

Bottled. Pours deep black with a creamy beige head. The aroma is quite hoppy with a decent amount of coffee. Some roast and light chocolate. The flavor has stronger notes of coffee than the aroma and notes of hops and roasted malt hits you later on. Bitter roasted coffee bean finish. Great.

22oz bottle, batch #112, courtesy of Ratebeer Brackets. pours a deep, dark brown that sits black in the glass with a thin ring of khaki lace around the edges. aroma is great with heavy, rich black coffee, espresso beans, and cocoa powder backed by earthy topsoil, cake batter, roast, and very subtle vanilla. flavor is really delicious with a heavy dose of dark chocolate cake layered atop hazelnuts, espresso, roasted malts, and smoke backed by smooth lactose sugar, vanilla pudding, and even a touch of caramel. palate is full bodied and creamy with smooth carbonation and a lingering finish of roast and cocoa. overall, a damn nice effort from pipeworks. Bottle shared at the Tampa Tasting, poured a dark black color with aromas of fresh pressed coffee, light roast, some light hops and some earth. Flavors are the same, mostly black coffee, light bitterness and roast in the aftertaste. Pretty amazed at this beer for such a high abv, didn’t taste like it, a great beer. Almost black, thin beige lacing. Very pleasant aroma of roasted coffee with hints of vanilla, chocolate malt, and caramel. Sweet, but in a balanced manner. Smooth, full-bodied, and masks the alcohol quite well.
