Bomber. Poured clear coppery amber with a short-lived beige head. The aroma picked up sweet cane sugar, dates, and caramel with light accents of black pepper and vanilla.. very sweet overall, but with nice stuff. The flavor found similar, with brown sugar and dates leading.. darker fruits, black pepper, and a touch of orange zest toward the back. Medium-bodied with lower carbonation.. smooth flow.. tasty, though a bit on the sweet side. hopscotch (11159) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 8, 2014
Bottle... Pours clear and copper with a brief, off-white head. The aroma offers toastiness, dates and other dark fruits, farmhouse yeast-driven spiciness and black bread. Full-bodied and sticky with tingly carbonation. The flavor is farmhouse-spicy and roasty followed by more dates and other dried dark fruits. Roasty, bitter, tongue-numbing finish. Sample at Kurtkeller 004: Pipeworks-tastic 01 on 01/18/2014. Great label. The beer pours a mostly clear brownish-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, malt and yeast. Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, earthy yeast and raisins. The finish is fruity with a Belgian candi and yeast aftertaste. Decent overall. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 30, 2013
22oz bottle shared by beerpig317. Mmm.. Very nice dark fruit, dates, belgian yeast, light candy sugar, some banana... Nice aroma. Murky brown copper color. Head fades to minimal, no lace. Nice bigger body. Smooth, kind of dry texture. Lighter, kind of smooth carbonation. Very smooth and easy drinking. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, light sweet. Lightly spicy. Light candy sugar. Very tasty dubbel, dates work wonderfully here. One of the better dubbels I’ve tried. phaleslu (10324) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 27, 2013
22 oz. bottle shared by beerpig317- thanks again, Bunker! Pours a hazed amber color with a small beige ring for a head. Aroma of date sugar, anise, caramel, toast, candied nuts- sugary, sweet, and a little spicy. The flavor is the same. Dark fruits and sugars. Light-medium bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a sweet, dry mouthfeel. Interesting take on a dubbel.

Hazy dark red - amber - brown beer. Small cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and dry with fine carbonation. Smooth malt base, a little cream. Sweet generic candy fruits with cherry rising to the top and becoming identifiable. Well integrated spice provides a counterpoint but overall this is a sweet sweet beer. Finishes smooth. Certainly drinkable but not in big quantaties!
Bottle shared with Yanick. Pours dark brown with off white head. Nose and taste of candi sugar, toffee, sugared dates, toasted grain and toasted nuts. Medium body. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 19, 2013
Bomber at Jerry’s. Murky caramel with scant, beige head, no legs / Sweet, boozy nose of dark fruit, banana, caramel, / Medium to full body, a touch thin, sweet but with solid hop balance, light burn on finish / Flavors of date, raisin, caramel, orange, turning apple, banana, sherry, clove / Well intentioned, and enjoyable, but doesn’t quite come together. Bottle share by Bryce, Aroma of dark fruit, candied sugar and Belgian yeast. Taste is date, yeast and a bit of clove, not a big fan.
