Bottle at Nieuwjaarsborrel. Pours almost black. Aroma is chocolate, boozy, coffee and bourbon. Very alcoholic. Quite sweet. Full bodied. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2014
Bottle @ nieuwjaarsborrel. Beer can’t wait to get out. Aroma is chocolate, roast, some red fruit notes, cinnamon, liquorice. Flavour is chocolate, oxidation, roast, liquorice, some yeast, cinnamon and chili. Slight boozy. Okay but nothing really special. Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 11, 2014
Pours dark coffee brownish black unclear with a big caramel head. It is a bit overcarbonated. The aroma brings a juicy, fresh cut pepper/chile, that really is what dominates the nose. Flavor has the ancho chile as the dominating presence as well, light vanilla roasted malts as undertones. The body is smooth, not as creamy as I would like, but right on for a sweet stout. jjgmd (2181) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - DEC 24, 2013
Bomber, courtesy of Archer Liquors, Chicago ....pours a dark black brown color with a very small head. Nose is sweet, malty and peppery. Taste is sweet with coffee and chocolate accentuated with pepper and chiles. Finish is sweet and spicy as well, with a moderate lingering. Enjoyed Christmas Eve as all the others with the boys! Quaff Score 8 / 10

Midnight black with a faint brown crown. Aroma of deep dark roasted malts, dark fruits and chocolate. Taste is deep and roasty with chocolate, mild spices and some fruit. fitwitchik (433) - Ohio, USA - OCT 2, 2013
Poured from a bomber into a snifter a dark cola brown color with almost no head. Batch #106
Aroma of serious chocolate with slight vanilla & booze cinnamon there.
Flavor is wonderfully chocolate milk. Cacao nibs done well here. Thinking I get vanilla and a highly unexpected zing of peppers at the end.
Balance is exceptional. The sweet the spices the surprise pepper.
This beverage is outstanding. Lovin’. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - SEP 26, 2013
Bottle at RBSG. From notes. Loads of chocolate and a decent chili pepper spice. I think I’ll need a bottle of this for myself. StefanSD (2451) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - SEP 22, 2013
650 ml bottle courtesy of St Fun. Thanks. Batch 106. Pours an opaque black color with a minimal head that quickly to fizzes away to nothing. The aroma is a bit dusty with cocoa, mocha and chocolates. The taste , like the aroma, features lots of complex chocolates; I get milk, baking, cocoa, mocha and bittersweet. There is also (in the taste) a bit of vanilla as well as some mild pepper spice and a bit of anise. The palate is full and viscous and the carbonation is lively. Finishes long and dry with a bit of lingering spicy chocolate. Overall: I thought that this was wonderfully complex and I really enjoyed it. Paired very well with some Spanish Manchego cheese.
