Bottle shared by TheAlum at Muckfest III...thanks Adam! - Pours dark black with a thin tan head. Nose is chocolate, cinnamon, a bit of boozy heat and a little pepper heat. Taste is milky chocolate, with nice chili heat, and vanilla notes. Much bigger body than before, with nice smooth carbonation. I was in the minority with the old batch--the thin body wasn’t that distracting before. I actually thought the flavor was better balanced before, and wasn’t that put off by the thin body, but this is still pretty tasty.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2012 Bomber shared @ tkrjukoffs CCB Day tasting. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a small beige head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace. Smell is sweet with heavily roasted malts, sweet liquorice, sweetened coffee, milk chocolate, dark rye bread, wood, smoked chili, cinnamon and smoked ham. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and spicy with roasted malts, quality dark chocolate, smoked chili, sweetened dark roast coffee, grass, cinnamon, lemon zest, black pepper, wood and hints of cardamom and cocoa. Mouthfeel is smooth, round and medium bodied. Finish is sweet with roasted malts, dark chocolate, smoked chili, coffee, cinnamon, black pepper and vanilla. An amazing balanced stout!

Bomber @ CCB Day. Pours oily pitch black with a shortlived borwnish head. Aroma is dry hoppy grassy soapy nicely hoppy. Flavor is just as good as the other one but yet more balanced and the blend of vanilla cocoa and cinnamon is better. So good chili bite at the finish not taking over the beer. Great job done by the brewers.

22oz bottle, dark brown pour without much head. Aroma of vanilla and spice. Same with the taste but you have to search a bit to find the vanilla. I’ve had both batches, the blue wax is by far superior. Can’t wait to grab a bottle of this again.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2012 Let this one warm up a bit out of the fridge. Pours black with a tan head that disappeared when I looked away. Aroma is great. Roasted cocoa but the spice was lingering at the end in the back of my sinus cavities. Taste is sweet malty chocolate. The heat comes on in the finish. Nice full oily mouthfeel. Overall a very good spicy beer.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2012 Bottle via funkyaudio! Dark mahogany, just missing ebony, pour with a dense latte head. Loads of cocoa, fudge, brownie batter, cinnamon, and chili pepper. Decent amount of capsiason and lactos...definitely get some heat and spice. Not the darkest or most aromatic but well rounded and interesting.
