Glaucus is the mythological existence of a being, both man and fish, a deity amongst mere mortals. The only beer fitting of such a name marries bold and spicy Belgian yeasy with bright citric American hops in a way even the gods would adore. Savor this golden beverage that can calm even the harshest seas.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours cloudy golden with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, a little bit of light fruit and spiciness from the yeast, some light malts, and light dough. Flavor about the same. Average texture. A good Belgian IPA, but something on the finish is slightly weird.

Thanks to the kind soul who shared this at the recent Tampa Crew Tasting. Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is some light malt, tropical fruit, Belgian yeast, and some herbs. Flavor is similar with malt, Belgian yeast, and spices. Light to medium in body and overall a nice Belgian IPA.

Rated on 7-27-2013. Batch #122 (Bottle) This beer pours a small white head that mostly diminished, hazy body, no visible carbonation, and a golden hue. The Aroma is malty, spicy, grapefruit, pine, and floral hops. This beer taste malty, lightly spicy, and citrus and pine hops. The Palate is semi-tingly and this beer is medium bodied. All-in-all, this beer is very quaffable, not overly hopping tasting and worth trying.

Big thanks to StFun for this one. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a creamy white head. Nose shows pineapple and lots of Belgian esters. Lots of overripe fruit juice. Super pineapple-y with some doughy notes. Heavy interaction between the hops and the Belgian yeast.

Bottle, thnx to Themicuda1971. Pours a very hazy golden pour with a nice, white sparkling head on top. Aroma is slightly hoppy, touch of malts and grapefruits. Flavour is quite bitter, hoppy and spicy. There is a yeasty touch in the back of the flavor. Quite nice take on the style.

Flavor is fruity bitter slightly malty in front, more bitterness tropical fruits pungent in the middle finishing longlived bitter piny and spicy. UPDATED: JUL 11, 2014 I didnt realize this used a Belgian yeast untill I looked it up here. Definitely, I would not shy from this if you dont typically like the style. This pours a yeast hazed orange golden with a very long lasting but thin head of fine bubbles. The nose is just great. A fruity Belgian yeast serves to highlight rather than compete with the floral and citrus hops. This is how I did not realize its a Belgian yeast; it just melds so well. Texture is full bodied but not sticky or heavy, which works. The finish is the reverse of the nose where the firm but mild hop bitterness compliments the fruity flavor of the yeast. My only small complaint is a touch of alcohol heat. This beer is truly one of the best of its style.

22 oz. bottle. Orange pour with a thin white head on top. Aroma of strong citrus hops, and a nice belgian yeast twang. Mild apricot jam notes as well as grass and a slight brininess. Flavor has a lot of citrus and fruit with a bright hoppiness that shines beneath the fruity, spicy, somewhat salty Belgian yeast profile. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Finishes with a touch of alcohol. Nice, very drinkable belgian ipa.

Bomber from cjacobsen on BA - thanks, Chris! Have to say that for my first (I think) Pipeworks I was hoping for a bit more. Slightly under-carbonated pour, like iced tea or apple juice. Nose was very strongly soapy, with loads of sweet and vaguely artificial fruit obscuring most of the hops. Body was reasonable full, palate a bit waxy. The flavors continued to disappoint, though, as there was relatively little in the way of a hop profile or yeast complexity. Strange, possibility even an off bottle.
