Got in a trade with TheFugitive. 22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/27/2013. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of milk chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, raisin, toast, dark bread, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and the vanilla/cocoa/coffee notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toast, dark bread, and roasted earthiness. Slight roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, dark bread, toast, vanilla, cream, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of roasted/dark malts with the cocoa/coffee/vanilla flavors; with big flavor robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy and moderately slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice milk stout. All around good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and vanilla/cocoa/coffee flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium to big tan head. Aroma of coffee, milk chocolate, pumpernickel, bread, licorice, ash and raw sugar. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of coffee, licorice, milk chocolate and ash. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Maybe a bit thin for the style, otherwise nice. andyhwcinc (1886) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 26, 2013
Purchased at West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at night prepping for a move which results in stress eating and drinking a little too much. This stuff is awesome! Batch #118. Appearance is a creamy pitch black with a very rich and frothy tan head. Aroma is fantastic with huge vanilla, chocolate notes, as well as a slight bitterness of coffee and a slight abrasiveness of cocoa. Taste is fantastic, super easy to drink and not too sweet, the cocoa nibs add an interesting complexity, mixes very well with the vanilla and coffee. Would happily enjoy again!

Bottle from West Lakeview Liquors. The pour is black with a thick fizzy tan head that takes a few seconds to die down to a manageable level. The aroma has a nice chocolaty scent to it, with some vanilla, ashy notes, and light coffee. The carbonation is overly active, which ends up being a bit distracting initially. Once I get past that there are some nice flavors: sweet vanilla, dark fruit, plenty of chocolate, a dash of coffee, lactic throughout, and a chalky finish. It does get better as it warms. Pretty solid. Tmoney99 (15114) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 20, 2013
Bottle shared at Natifest ’13. Poured a dark brown color with an average tan frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium complex dark roasted coffee and sweet chocolate aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted coffee sweet flavor with a medium to heavy roasted dark coffee sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid brew. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 14, 2013

Taster from a bottle shared at Natifest 2013. Batch 140, I believe the bottle read. Good coffee in the nose, dark chocolate, big roast. Darker brown color. Minimal off-white head. Couple bits of lace. Bigger, chewier body. Moderate sweeter taste. Light bitter. Good milk stout. Not as sweet as most, a good balance.
