Super dark pour. Delicious coffee flavor & fantastic sweetness without being too heavy.

Draft at the Tivoli Brewing Tap House. Black appearance with a lingering brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, milk chocolate, light earth and a hint of citrus zest. Similar flavor, rich, dark and malty with moderate sweetness and a light bitterness. Medium to full body with soft carbonation and a smooth creamy feel. On tap at Local Option, Chicago IL., and snifter served showing a black/brown hue, with brownish tan froth, and spots & strands of foamy lacing. The nose was roasted, espresso & cocoa, vanilla & maltiness that combined to contributed slight freezer burn scent, and subtle sweetness. Full bodied, with low carbonation, the taste added notes of caramel & toffee, some roasted & earthy bitterness, warmth, and finishing dryness. A rich and robust Imperial Stout. Pours an oily looking black with a thin dark tan head. The aroma consists of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, a little bit of vanilla, and some alcohol. Chocolate and coffee dominate the taste. There is a boozy flavor here, along with caramel and vanilla. This one is rather dry with just a bit of a sweet touch to it. The aftertaste is chocolate. Its medium in body, with an oily texture, and some very soft carbonation. This is good.

650ml bottle from Binnys in Highland Park. Very dark brown pour with a brown head. Nose has big espresso, with caramel malts and light nut. Taste is of bakers chocolate, roast, chocolate liqueur, caramel and some molasses. A bit rough, but maybe just young. Medium to full bodied with some alcohol. Finishes well balanced between bitter and sweet. The best of the derivatives off the very good base? 15.5
