Brown black pour with tan head and lace. Aroma is medium chocolate, light orange zest and roasty. Flavor is sweet chocolate, citrus zest, and roasted malt bitter. A nice abv warmth as well. Medium/full bodied with smooth carbonation. nice beer kaser (6409) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 17, 2014
Black pour from 22oz bottle at home. Small white head. Has a sweet chocolate and sherbet fruit taste to it. Chalky cocoa sweet and fruity flavor. I guess it is orange flavored since that is what the bottle says. But it is good regardless SotallyTober (113) - Channahon, Illinois, USA - DEC 13, 2014
Bomber batch 547-550. Pours black with a thin mocha head. Has a orange, chocolate, and roasted malt aroma. Taste was well balanced with the same notes as the aroma. Medium body that was creamy on the palate. Very enjoyable! ARH (1138) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 10, 2014
22oz bottle, poured into a snifter. A light, malty and coffee aroma starts the beer off, but it’s quickly overtaken by sweet blood orange and candy sugar notes as well as milk chocolate candy bar aromas and a slightly boozey nose. It pours a murky, dark, opaque, muddy brown with a light, thin, brown head that retreats to nothing quickly and leaves just speckles of surface and lace. It’s highly sugary sweet with a medium, chocolate bitterness. The beer has a light, fizzy carbonation to go with the viscous and stick texture. The full body contains notes of dark chocolate covered oranges, and finishes with a gritty, baker’s chocolate touch and a warm, alcohol swallow. Some grains come into the palate late, and the aftertaste contains notes of sugar cubes and chocolate which lingers lightly, and is not as cloying as the initial palate would have lead me to believe. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - DEC 6, 2014
(draft @ Local Option - Chicago, IL) Dark brown with a thick tan head. Very mild orange aroma overtop of a rich and roasty chocolate and coffee aroma. Orange definitely is subdued and well balanced. Doesn’t overpower the roasted malts. Really well put together.

Bottle: Pour is murky brown, with a thin / khaki head into this glass. The nose is earthy initial, cocoa powder, roasty malts, moving to feint spice and some light citrus. I guess. The flavor profile rounds out quite nicely , though - it’s a touch thin, but the chocolate malts are balanced nicely with dry roast, and the sweet orange note that became more prevalent on the tongue. It has a longer finish with sweet chocolate cake and a touch of lactose. Anyway - I enjoyed it for the first time experience that it was. jjgmd (2265) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - NOV 29, 2014
With Z on the patio, pour a dark pitch black color with a light cream colored head. Nose is deep orange with some chocloate malt notes. The first sip bursts with orange and alcohol. The ’ there after ’ taste is tempered alcohol with rich dark orange chocolate..... full of flavor. Ends on the same tasting notes, warms the palate , a nice sipper ! Another Pipeworks Wonder ! Bomber. Pours black with a light brown head and aroma of orange and chocolate. Taste is strong, of chocolate, citrusy orange, alcohol, and dark fruits into the orange filled long finish. cpetrone84 (1810) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 24, 2014
Pour is black with a tight caramel colored head. Nose is heavy roast light up front, orange citrus liquor, faint notes of chocolate malt, more lingering almost burnt roasted malts. Taste is a bit messy, lots of booziness throughout, orange citrus liquor, roast isn’t quite as over cooked as the nose, not acrid which I thought it would be, malts are a bit richer mid palate, but lots of sugar and sweetness through the back end mixing with the orange citrus. Full body, a bit slick, moderate carbonation, semi dry finish with some bitter chocolate through the finish. DrowningInBeer (76) - SPAIN - SEP 27, 2014
Completely black beer. Tones of chocolate in the aroma and flavour. Very sweet, with a slightly acid touch due to the orange.
