THE Sour and Saison tasting. Hazy gold amber beer. Big pale cream coloured head. Smooth light palate, airy and dry. Quite a milky malt - very lactose. Minerals. Mild black pepper and very mild citrus. Finishes soft and airy. Interesting and tasty combo of milky malt and pepper but the sessionability is low - would not want to tackle a whole bottle.
Bottle courtesy of noodleuser, thanks! Hazy yellow color, white head. Aroma of peppery straw, hay, grass. The black pepper comes into the taste late, but it’s very obvious once it appears. Leighton (21234) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 25, 2012
Bottle at THE Sour and Saison Tasting, London. Many thanks to Kenny for procuring this gal. Pours cloudy, yellow-gold with a creamy, white cap. A bit of sugary yohgurt on the nose, accompanied by doughy pale malts. Light to mediums sweet flavor with more yoghurt (vanilla yoghurt, to be exact), some background pepper, a bit more dough. Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation. Sweet finish with mild spice, herbs, dough. Interesting stuff, if a touch too sweet at times. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - NOV 6, 2012

Pale orange pour with a white head. Lots of pepper, bread, and cracker. Somewhat cheesy, a touch of citrus zest, yeast, and some coriander. The flavor is lightly sweet with some bread and cracker malt notes. Lots of pepper, some lemon zest, orange, coriander, and yeast.

Bottle thanks to Ken at THE sours & saisons tasting (part 1). It pours cloudy golden-amber, with a massive white head. The nose is rather spicy, lots of freshly cracked black pepper, underlying sweetness, earth and floral notes. The taste is rather dry, peppercorn, creamy, dough, sugary sweetness and weird tanginess, with a dry, peppery finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Can’t say I like pepper in my beer. I really didn’t enjoy this at all. Challenging to drink..... Tmoney99 (14460) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 7, 2013
Bottle shared by beerpig317. Poured a hazy pale copper color with an averae frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate pepper, lemon and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy spice sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. I shared this with friends. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 24, 2012

Sample from batch #40 at Kurtkeller 004: Pipeworks-tastic 01 on 01/18/2014. The beer is a slightly cloudy yellow-gold color with a medium off-white head that evaporates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of peppercorns, yeast and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of peppery yeast, toasted malt and citrus. The finish is fruity with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Decent overall. crossovert (12879) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 29, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 19, 2014 A big, spicy saison that not only lets the yeast sing with the clove but the peppercorns add a nice throat burn. Awesome.
