Rye Barleywine Style Ale. The unicorn may have finally found its match in Death Incarnate. But hold your horned horses, because the unicorn lives to rye another day! What a sickle joke! But, we aren’t tricking you, this barley wine is a real treat, with a rich malt skeleton and a more than paranormal amount of hops. If you’re going to harvest soul-y one beer this season, don’t fear the reaper...

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, hazy orange-red pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, hints of rye, touch of spice, hints of lemon notes into some pine, orange. Taste was a mix of orange, grain, citrus into a bit of caramel, toffee, slight spice, finishing with a hint of earth, bitter.

650ml bottle. Murky, dark amber colour with small to average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige-khaki head. Sweet-ish, sugary caramel malty aroma, notes of candied citrus fruit, orange, bitter orange, orange zest, hints of almond, marzipan. Taste is bitter hoppy, caramel malty basis, a sugary touch, hints of candied orange zest, some almond. Very clean and easy going.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy ruby amber color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy dark rye malt, alcohol and hop aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a complex solid beer.

22oz bottle, thanks to alexsdad06. Batch #525/526. Nice hazy red brown brick-type color. Thin off-white head. Dots and bits of lace. Really nice earthy hop, awesome grapefruit, mild rye spiciness. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, moderate sweet, nice dry finish. Bigger body, kind of dry finish, smooth kind of soft lighter carbonation. Nice full body, good chewiness to it. I really am enjoying this. Could definitely do the whole bottle on my own if I wanted to. Very well-rounded. Hardly a hint of the alcohol.

22 oz bottle shared with the group. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have a nice combination of fruits, caramel, big malt character with spicy rye, general hop bitterness that lasts for a while.

Very hazy deep amber - brown beer, tiny cream colour head. Palate is smooth with a very mild viscosity. Fine carbonation. Malts are smooth with unsweet dark toffee and a trace of cream. Little aniseed leads to mild marmalade and a good dose of hop spice. Finishes smooth and semi dry with a spicy bitter linger. Hangs together well. Nice!

Bottle. Pour is dark amber with a small tan head that fades quickly. Aroma and flavor of light toffee, hop grass, rye spice, and pale malt. Finish is very bitter for a barleywine.
