Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Hazy dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark fruit and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. 291213 chuckstout (332) - Washington, USA - DEC 24, 2013
Caramel and toffee in the aroma, pours a brilliant candy apple red with a orange head that dissipates almost instantly. Super clean front palette caramel, bread with a nice balancing bitterness touches of citrus and pine and a bit of alcohol really late in the finish madvike (3250) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 16, 2013
Bottle - Pours hazy brown with a ruby red tint. Nose is plasticy, oddly fruity, some rye spice, with herbal, piney hops. Taste is dry, spicy malt with grassy herbal pine hops, with some citrus peel on the finish. Real malty and a little too sharp. Medium body with medium carbonation. Not my favorite Pipeworks beer.
