Very hazy deep amber - brown beer, tiny cream colour head. Palate is smooth with a very mild viscosity. Fine carbonation. Malts are smooth with unsweet dark toffee and a trace of cream. Little aniseed leads to mild marmalade and a good dose of hop spice. Finishes smooth and semi dry with a spicy bitter linger. Hangs together well. Nice!

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma of orange notes, caramel, brown sugar, and resinous hops. Flavour is quite hoppy for a barley wine, with brown sugar, dry resinous and piney hops, and caramely bready malts. Not very sweet for a barley wine, with the hops citing out the sweetness. Very well-balanced. Good stuff. chrisv10 (17587) - DENMARK - DEC 29, 2013
