Excellent brew. It pours a beautiful deep copper color with a reasonable head. Good balance of hops to tastefully offset this malty brew.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep ruby/brown with lacy, off-white head. Aroma of a lot of caramel and toffee maltiness plus some bread/dough with a with some floral hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer but not the best.

Bomber, thanks Brett! Batch 160, bottled 7/1/13. Pours a cloudy dark ruby red (almost purple) color with a very nice, small, dense, creamy head that just sits there. Awesome appearance. Aroma is a mix of rich caramel candy with tropical fruits, grass, and light pine. The taste starts with dense creamy caramel with a only a light sweetness. Moderate bitterness builds into the big hoppy tropical fruit finish. Thick body, very creamy and chewy mouthfeel. A somewhat unique take on an imperial red and very good. Most imperial reds are basically Red IPAs but this is more like a thick barley wine. Another really good Pipeworks beer. I think this would still taste good next year too.

Bottle with Medici: pours clear reddish copper, thick cream head that recedes. Nose is musty caramel malts, pine, herbal dank hops. Fairly chewy body. Big red caramel malt sweetness that dries out with herbal hop bitterness. Solid offering ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from West Lakeview Liquors, Chicago. Big, lustrous copper pour with moderate dustiness here and there but mostly deep and bright. Thick creamy head and plenty retention. Nose is akin to that superb hopsicle thing I got from the other Unicorn beers, huge tropical fruits, just enough candy to entice (not the usual malt backing, something altogether fruitier), and big resinous hops. Full mouthfeel, very lively, just a touch of slickness to accentuate the sweeter dimensions. Loads of bitter hops in the taste, more prominent than in the aroma, contrasting nicely with the substantial malts and sweet/floral flavors everywhere. Really excellent brew.

Very nice. Dark red, slightly hazy pour, nice fluffy head, lots of white lacing. Big malt and big hops on this, very pine-forward.

Wow, i didnt know anything about this beer but I was blown away. I even considered giving it my first perfect rating, but couldnt quite bring myself to do it. Mouth watering complex tart bitterness, oh baby! Carmel green apple, iced tea, and loads of dark tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is creamy but not heavy and the abv is nonexistent. Its sold as a "4th of july beer" but to me it seems like a perfect "get drunk trying to do a corn maze on a crisp fall day" kind of beer. I couldnt give it a perfect rating because its perhaps a bit too sour, with a slight sulphur in the aftertaste...

Nice fresh bottle thanks to Adam! Pours hazy reddish amber with a medium tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is rich heavy caramel, toffee, butter, with notes of pine and citrus mixed in. Flavor is the same, actually quite sweet and light plus bitter. Full body, creamy and oily mouthfeel. This one grows on you with drinking, and by the end I was really digging it! Up there with some of the good hoppy barleywines, or Drakes Exxpedition.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of resin and pine with a strong backbone of caramel and toffee. Flavor starts smooth with sweet grain and caramel and has a resinous pine finish.
