With Zach and Josh, pours a rusty copper color with as small head. Nose is fruity, with the pear quite apprentice and a bit of spice. Taste is a bit yeasty, with fruit and a bit of alcohol....a very complex tasting pale ale. Finish is fruity and spicy with a sweet pear ending. Bombed. Pours a hazy orange with an off white head and aroma of spices and hints of pear. Taste is full of spices and yeast as well with apparent pear and fruity notes throughout along with cinnamon and malt leading to a pear, spicy finish. Bottle thanks to dtjager. Pours dirty gold white head. Nose/taste of cinnamon, alcohol soaked pears, spicy yeast and malt. Medium body. Odd. Experimental for sure. jbrana (640) - NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA - AUG 26, 2014
Sweet with some pear and caramel flavor and hints of brown sugar. Was expecting this one to be a bit more balanced, but it's a bit of a malt bomb. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - AUG 9, 2014
Bottled and served in PW snifter: Right off the get go.. This isn’t a pale ale and is quite atypical being overly hazed... Hello pectins? Pours a coppery hue with a minimal head and no lace to speak of. Now that is done... I actually like this with a solid pear juice and cinnamon combo with caramel and bready malts. This does need more carbonation to keep clean the palate. Compared to last couple PW offerings this is at least meeting expectations... I got an idea, do an actual pear pale ale around 5-6% ABV that is clean and refreshing. Is that too much to ask?

bomber from wlvliquors. refreshing, sweet fruitiness which i guess was from the pears. Christpuncher (3215) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 1, 2014
Sink pour. This beer is awful. Spicy and carbonated. Tastes nothing like a pale ale and more like that 5 rabbit crap. Stay away. Pours orange. Worst thing pipe works has put out.

Bottle; Pour is murky gold with a one finger white head into this glass. It fades fairly quickly. leading to a ring and light hazing presence. The nose is heavy spice, cinnamon, moving to breading, caramel, with light fruit presence and a hint of toffee. Well - It’s not quite what I was expecting but frankly : I bought it because I’m a pear fan. Maybe that was a mistake. They label this one a pear pale - I imagine that it shares some characteristics with some of their other random iipas, but it’s heavy malt / fruit initial - it’s sticky, it’s overloaded in a way - hop presence is modest at best. I pushed through this glass and it became a chore. This is not a beer I would get again. You can’t win them all : It’s just a mess orangenblu62 (39) - Illinois, USA - JUL 18, 2014
Hazy orange pour. Too cloudy for my liking. No head and little carbonation to speak of. Sweet tasre but not over powering. Subtle palate. Overall a solid ale. Unique but not (despite the name) distastefully weird. crossovert (14233) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 18, 2014
650ml bottle. Hazed godl pour. Smell is sweet malt and cinnamon. Flavor is sweet, slight cinnamon burn. Not a pale ale. Just not working for me.
