UPDATED: DEC 11, 2015 Batch #11. Not a meaty smokiness, so not like the German one that tastes like drinking bacon. Maybe an ashy smoke. The porter behind it has a certain dryness with a bit of coffee and chocolate, more coffee though. Nice but not my thing. If this is your thing it is a good example of that. Serving: Bottle

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head. The aroma is strong smoke and pepper. Thin mouth, strong smoke, light roast, lingering dryness, good.

Bomber, via Archer Liquors. Chicago, pours a dark black pour with a large head. Nose is smoke, heavy malt and licorice. Taste is smoky, with roasted coffee and chocolate. Excellent smoked porter. Quaff Score 7 / 10 Enjoyed with Josh, Zach and Brandon

Pours brown with a tan head and aroma of liquorice, smoke, and roasted malt. Taste is smoky up front, nice sweet chocolate, liquorice, roasted malt, and wood with a smoky, medium finish. Delicious brew with a nice amount of smoke that is not overdone

22 oz bottle from De Bierkoning (batch # 86, bottled 15 Feb. ’13). Opened with a loud hiss. Black color with a huge beige head. Aroma’s of smoke, tar, sweetness, caramelvla, hints of (red) fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet, smoky with faint hints of fruity sourness. Medium bodied, high carbonation (at first). Finishes slightly ashy, and lightly bitter. Quite pleasant, albeit on the sweet side.

Pours black with tan head. Tons of smoke. Some barrel but smoke overwhelms. Not my favorite

Bottle thanks to Jstax. Pours a rich burnt umber color with a fast rising khaki foam that settles quickly. The nose is full of musky charred campfire smoke, medium roasted chocolate and a bit of molasses. The palate follows the nose but the integration of smoke is much better than the nose lead me to believe. Good roasty chocolate, wet smokey wood, a bit of licorice and salty caramel as well Very heavily carbonation.. could almost use less bubbles and a thicker fuller body to make it delicious.

The aroma has sweet, sugary qualities consisting of mild vanilla, dark chocolate and smooth malt. The head is almond in color and high in volume. They are not kidding about pouring this with caution. The body is black as pitch. As in the aroma, the taste has deep malty goodness adorned with chocolate and coffee. The rich malt takes command and is very enjoyable. This has a thick silky feel on the tongue after the carbonation fades. The aftertaste is chocolate and heavy malt. Brilliant.

Bomber. Pours an opaque dark brown with a thin bubbly light tan head. Aroma is rich malt, dark chocolate with a notable smoky character. Smoke is not dominant but adds a richness to a dry roasty malt body. Somewhat thin, light carbonation.
