Rich copper coloured body with a nice thick four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of molasses, light spices, wheat, grain, sour grapes and a hint of caramel - very nice and aromatic. Medium-bodied; Assertive malty and earthy notes with some defined sugars, grain and spices all noticeable along with a bunch of deep flavours including canella, sorghum and anise. Aftertaste is nice with a very rich flavour, but showing a good balance of malt and spices. Overall, a surprisingly good beer, well balanced, full of flavours and nice to try! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Chicago, Illinois (Streeterville) on 11-May-2016 for US$8,99 sampled at home in Washington on 04-July-2016 to celebrate Independence Day! jjgmd (2316) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - JUN 29, 2016
With Z , pours a dark copper rusty poor with a beige head. Nose is deep citrus with some ginger and hops...pleasant ! Taste is bitter with bold hops and deeper resin....followed by some sweeter spicy citrus !
Finishes on the spicy hoppy citrus notes , dryly with a moderately long finish ! Quite nice from the crew in Chicago , a well kept secret brewery from folks in Florida !! Quaff Score 8 / 10 zgaier (1979) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - JUN 29, 2016
Bomber. Pours a hazy dark orange with an off white head and hoppy, sweet, fruity aroma. Taste is bitter up front, with hops and resin along with caramel, citrus, and fruity notes into the bitter, dry finish. Cousin_Larry (895) - - JUN 13, 2016
Sample at WOBFest 2016. The spiciness works for me. Wish I had taken better notes but it was near the end of the festival. tillmac62 (774) - Gaffney, South Carolina, USA - MAY 10, 2016
BOD 4/15/16. Pours a clear medium amber. Outstanding head volume and retention, world class lacing.
Unusual, yet outstanding nose of lime with a bit of ginger underneath. As it warms, coconut arrives in a subtle fashion.
Medium body with a very smooth texture that hints at creaminess. Slightly below normal carbonation level, but it works really well with this body and helps deliver a subtle slickness. A bit of effervescence arrives mid-palate and delivers a subtle prickly finish.
The flavor profile is a bit unique, but I dig it and rate it quite outstanding. It begins as a blended wave of flavors that separate, but underneath is an always present lime component. Ginger appears near the finish with a touch of spicy heat and flavor. Coconut arrives in the middle over a sweet, but subtle, molasses note. The middle hints at bitterness as a subtle note of lime zest that is slightly tart and delivers a light pucker. The finish is an amazing blend of lime and coconut over a fading molasses that slowly trails off into a slightly tart note of zest. As the zest arrives, the finish delivers a moderate dryness.

Pretty crazy beer. Has an eggnog kick to it, maybe nutmeg. Poured from 22oz bottle at home. Dark orange with white bubbley head. Spices and vanilla on the nose. Rich complex taste of spices, nutmeg, ginger, milk and coconut. Grows on you after a few drinks. Niko100 (3014) - Chicago, New York, USA - MAY 31, 2015
Rich amber/cider color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of sweet malt, coconut, vanilla, & spice; Flavor of sweet malt, yeast, ginger, lime, and spice; Pretty interesting. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - MAY 14, 2015
Bottled and served in PW snifter: Well I expected a dark ale and that is not the case, not "black like obsidian"... but it still looks okay enough. Initial impression is citrus hops and lime over a layer of caramel sauce... However the taste is well very Pipeworks as in uniquely strange with the ginger, coconut, and cocktail bitters. Yeah I am actually digging this quite a bit! A little Gin and Tonic botanicals like thingy under the malt and hops. I hope the crew put some of this in a rum OR gin barrel where I think it could shine as a FwB release.

650ml bottle. Hazy amber pour. Smells sweet and sugary, define dark fruit and coconut combo, the ginger is not prominent int he nose, though a touch of lime is. Flavor brings out all the components, surprisingly tart, smooth and vanilla/coconutty. It is a sipper for sure unlike the tiki beer but its nice. zebra (2451) - Illinois, USA - MAY 1, 2015
bomber from community-bar. hazy orange-amber, sweet tropical fruit nose, tart lime, creamy coconut. not what i’d call a fruit beer/radler.
