Spring 2017 bottle. Thanks Jonathan F for the beer. Aroma: intense boozy bourbon, light molasses, woody, lots of chocolate. App: pitch black with burgundy tint, no head. Taste and palate: full body, liquoreux, chocolaty, light acidity finish. Overall: exactly how I love my BA imperial stouts. Liquoreux and not too sweet. For sure the alcohol is quite present but since it's not too sweet it's not overwhelming. Really well made. Can't wait to taste the BA Cherry Truffle version. alexsdad06 (11394) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - AUG 7, 2016
Draft sample from notes. Pours a very dark brown to black in color with a medium sized khaki head. The aroma and flavor have big roasted malt, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, cocoa powder, more dark chocolate, hints of caramel with some char and earthy bitterness at the finish. More bourbon and wood on the finish. djd07 (16463) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 1, 2016
Bottle thanks to Freeburn. Pours black with tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong bourbon, wood, vanilla, roast. Thin mouth, roast, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, wood, nice sweetness, really good. Dfonorow (2358) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 24, 2016
On tap at FoBAB 2015. Pour is black with a very small oily tan head. Aroma and flavor of roasted malt, light bourbon heat, milk chocolate, and fudge. Finish has a bit of heat added in. hopscotch (11493) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 13, 2015
Bottle... Pours ink-black with a fleeting, bubbly head. The aroma features a heavy-handed splash of bourbon accompanied by more modest components of coconut and fudge. Full-bodied with an ultra-velvety mouthfeel and adequate carbonation. The flavor features a heavily acidic bourbon element merged with heavy notes of charcoal and fudge. Lengthy, boozy, dark chocolate finish. Pull this baby from the barrel a month earlier next time and it’ll be a world class beer. Darned good regardless. Bottle courtesy of BBB63!

Draft. Black pour. Very similar to bcbs of yesteryear. Good chocolate big booze but not crazy. Good body. Good nightcap type beer. drdisque (905) - Illinois, USA - AUG 15, 2015
From a bottle in Binny’s tasting room. Agree with other raters, this beer is very much like a BCBS clone. Tasting them side-by-side this beer is only differing in being slightly more astringent and peppery. Good beer, but so derivative I don’t really know how to rate it. rxeight (3344) - Illinois, USA - AUG 9, 2015
22oz bottle. Thanks to Facey for sharing. Bourbon and milk chocolate. Very smooth. Creamy body. Picked up a little bourbon heat as it warmed up. This is insanely close to bourbon county. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - MAR 6, 2015
Bottle and served in my TFTO snifter: Pitch black with a small but lasting rocky tan head, very good lacework. If the goal here was to create a BCBS clone then the guys at Pipeworks accomplished that in spades. From the nose through the palate all the way after finish this is insanely similar to the 2014 Bourbon County I had just a few hours ago... Only the viscosity and aggression on the tongue seem to be the sliver of differences. Huge blackstrap molasses, vanilla bean, bittersweet chocolate, bourbon whiskey barrel, char and roasted coffee. The big booze cleansed the palate of all that malty stickiness. Therefore this Rocks Socks and gets the same 4.3 rating that the aforementioned brew did!
