This strong amber beer was first brewed in 1982 at the request of Van Steenberge’s Italian importer. Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Clear golden beer with some white head. Aroma is malty, spicy, alcohol. Taste is bread, spicy, mild sweet. Dry little hoppy finish, little bit feel of boozy. Descent strong ale although.

It's a little tasting beer that packs a punch. I was surprised that it was a 10% beer. It really doesn't taste like it would be. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33 cl bottle, typical belgian style. Strong Ale with high alcoholic volume (10,5% by Vol). This Ale is golden, clear and with white foam. Bitter, spiced and malted aromatic mix. A really good beer for having an idea of one of the Belgian brewery masterpieces!

Sterk blond-amberkleurig bier.

Bottle as a gift from Tomáš, ďakujem! It’s Belgium, so you can literally smell alcohol from it. Taste is Belgian standard but still, I had betters...

A fortuitous purchase at the nearby HEB. Great name, great label. Let’s see what else it has going for it. The 750 bottle opens with an explosive pop. Pouring it into my tulip glass it delivers a straw yellow liquid and a tremendously tall white head reinforced by a steady stream of bubbles. The scent is rock candy, dough, a hint of spice. Building on that the taste comes across yeasty, a yellow plum sweetness, grain and toffee. Bitterness, no. Not a high level Belgian for me but I certainly do appreciate.

Very nice and different IPA. Full of character and complex flavors. Good balanced malts and hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Prescindible.
