2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
33cl bottle @ home. Just a average strong ale. Too strong alcoholtaste.
Bottle 33cl, a pale yellow beer with huge head but poor retention. Nose is on belgian yeast , aroma is on sugar, belgian yeast, toasted malt notes, some candy sugar I think, light caramel, kind of grassy / green vegetable notes. Ok but not complex. ordybill (1815) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - MAY 11, 2016
Poured from a 330 ML bottle into a tulip glass.
Aroma- Has a yeast and fruit
Appearance- Has a nice amber color with a giant white head.
Taste- Excellent blend of hops and malts
Palate- A medium bodied beer with heavy carbonation.
Overall- Outstanding beer, side note, for those who collect bottle caps this beer has a beautiful bottle cap. BenWesthof (196) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 7, 2016
A strong Belgian ale, but not too exciting for me. The bitter tones are a bit too much in this one. ttoadee (1580) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 12, 2015
Hazy dark gold pour, finger of soft white head. Nose is soft fruit and yeast. Little more sweet than bitter. Middle shows apricot, alcohol, mango, and malt. Finish is slightly bitter and boozy. tderoeck (10195) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAY 12, 2015

Clear orange beer, aery fizzy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: metallic, some orange peel, slightly spicy, hint of cloves, yeast, green banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citrus, pretty metallic, sweet, yeast, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: metallic, yeast, little bitter, bread-like touch, alcohol, green apple skin.
Bought a bottle. The beer has a golden color with a large white head and has is perfectly carbonated. In the aroma tones malts, yeast, bananas and some fruits. In the taste sweet fruits and malts. A lot of bananas and is also a little alcoholic. The finish long and heavy with a light bitter. A pretty standard strong ale. I like the idea, but it’s a little too alcoholic. eduardovl (1474) - SWITZERLAND - OCT 14, 2014
UPDATED: DEC 2, 2014 330ml served in a snifter glass.
A: Pours a dark orange color forming a huge white bubbled head. Clear. Good retention and tons of lacings formed and left
S: Very sweet in the nose. Very fruity and bready too. Notes of raisins, vanilla and honey. Yeasts are very bready and Belgian. A bit metallic. Alcohol can be felt in the end
T: Sweet upfront, sweet malts, mainly. Quite fruity, with notes of grapes and raisins. Earthy yeasts. Light hops bitterness in the end
M: Heavy, creamy and molasses. Medium carbonation. Bittersweet aftertaste
O: Strong but quite good beer. Very Belgian. Recommended

Visual: The 9% ABV (as opposed to 10.5%) little brother version. Pours almost clear marmalade orange with a large lasting super foamy head, thick lacing & retention, lots and lots of clustered streams.
Nose: sweet barley malt mixed with bright honeyed citrus, hints of florals. (lvl-3)-pungency
Attack: subdued alcohol + incoming honey sweetness
Mid-palate: weightiness, fizzy-tingly mouthfeel, (lvl-6)-sweetness, (MAIN) barley malts, honey, citrus
Finish: light alcoholic warmth + mild alcohol bitterness, subtle bitter hopped, lingering barley malty sweet finish.
Summary: Shockingly easy to drink at first but becomes palate-tiring halfway through. Full-bodied with medium complexity. Not too exciting but solid. Alengrin (5718) - BELGIUM - SEP 28, 2014
Classic Van Steenberge ale, golden blond, hazy, with snow white head and fruity, yeasty character, malt sweetness and spicy notes with a mild florally hopped finish. Average, like most of their beers, and unmistakably Van Steenberge. mikske79 (1727) - Puerto Plata, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - AUG 15, 2014
Een lekker stevig biertje. Niets uitzonderlijks, maar gewoon een bier dat aan de verwachtingen voldoet.
