22 oz. bottle via NC trade- thanks again, John! Pours a clear copper with a small, wispy off-white head that quickly settles into a film. Aroma of caramel, some grassy and herbal hops, grapefruit, raisins, wood, and light florals. Flavor of caramel, grass, mellow spice, dates, resin, nectar, honey, and wood chips. Bottle, thanks to drfabulous. Pours dark amber red. Some bubbles, irregular lacing. Aroma: toffee, brown sugar, tawny port. Smells great. Taste: moderately sweet, plum, toffee, dark fruits, caramel. English fo sho. Really nice. Full body, soft carbonation. Overall: A sweet, full bodied, very nice beer.

Bottle. Pours the color of maple syrup with a nice sized white head. This flavors and nose make it clear this is English-style...very sweet, a bit sticky, and a low to medium level of carbonation. It’s a bit hot and could probably use some age to mellow out as this was a fresh bottle. Aroma: Citrus, brown sugar, floral hints, alcohol
Appearance: Dark reddish/brown with small off-white head
Taste: Sweet, a bit syrupy.
Palate: Warm alcohol up front, lively alcohol laden mouthfeel. Chewy, although a thinner mouthfeel than I might expect.
Overall: Smooth, tasty sipper in the likes of bigfoot. This is a big beer that doesn’t try to hide the alcohol. No off-notes or unpleasant flavors, making this quite pleasing to drink

Bomber shared poured a medium brown with smallish tan head. The initial aroma is brown sugar, black pepper, dark fruits, and booze lots of booze. The flavor holds true and then some. This goes from the sweet dark fruits to the brown sugar to the black pepper to the alcohol burn. The pepper is not a deterrent either blends very well. Overall this is a very nice barley wine. This bottle is dated 11/26/2013.
