Honey sweet aroma with slight fruit and citrus - like tangelos. Cloudy, rather dark in color with a lasting, thick and frothy head. Citrus twang with a dollop of bitterness at the swallow. Nice amount of maltiness. Nice.
Deep golden color with a taller, stable ecru head. Scents of earthy malt, and mild citrus. Flavors concur with the scents as the earthiness is present throughout, both in the malts and hops. Earthy and mediocre 3/10

Consumed at the May 2011 LEAF Festival, about 1 mile from the brewery.
A - Amber. Clear. Nice bone head is creamy and has very good retention.
S - modestly hoppy aroma for style, with toasted malt
T - fairly rich and earthy, with plenty of toasted malt and hop bitterness. As expected, this IPA has a bitter finish and lingering bitter grapefruit rind aftertaste, but I thought this one had too little actual hop flavor given this level of bitterness.
M - medium body is a bit full for style. Adequate if light carbonation.
O- Good beer, and certified organic, but disappointing given the outstanding track record of this brewery. rdixon77 (2829) - Georgia, USA - APR 11, 2015
Old rating. Decent IPA. More biscuity than hoppy. Mild floral hops. Easy drinking, but fairly basic stuff. drowland (8676) - Georgia, USA - NOV 29, 2013
11/27/13. On tap at the Mellow Mushroom in downtown Asheville. Amber orange pour with a small frothy khaki head. Mild aroma, grainy, husky malts with some caramel and biscuit aspects, very mild hops - touches of floral and citrus. Mild flavor as well, again malty with barely a touch of floral and citrus hops. Growler from an Asheville grocer. Amber color. Most beautiful lace. Tastes of earthy leaves, sharp bitter hops, loads of citrus. Aroma of grapefruit and caramel malt. Finishes with sharp bitterness.(3525)

On tap at Mellow Mushroom in Asheville. Cloudy light straw color. Nose is a bit tame. Flavor is fairly heavy on grain tannin. Moderate bitterness. Light-medium body. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Draft in a flight at the brewery. Poured a golden color with a fairly small head. Nice level of hoppiness all around that makes for a pleasant drink. Travlr (24667) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 15, 2012
Draft at the source. Hazy amber color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of grapefruit taste is tropical fruit, moderate bitterness. Nice. b3shine (8870) - Indiana, USA - JUN 15, 2012
Draft to pint at Pisgah. Looks good; deep orange with ample head. Smells solid; hoppy and malty. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthful. Pretty good. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 30, 2012
Originally reviewed: 2/13/10. Bottle poured into a pint glass. Enjoyed this while watching the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics. Pours a slightly murky dark orange/gold with a nice frothy white head on top. Superb retention; left lots of sticky lace and sip rings on the glass. Scents of mild floral tones, some light citrus, and earth. Not that "hoppy" of a nose.
Good smooth body with a subtle carbonation kick on the back end. The flavors in this beer are pretty muted. Nothing really stands out. Some mild citrus like orange zest, moderate bitterness, and a light honey-sweet finish. This was a good beer, no doubt, but it is not in the upper tier for this style. It’s organic though, so it’s got that going for it. Not bad.
