Draft at source. Nitro. Aroma is deep chocolate with a coffee overtone. Roasty. Taste is less roasty. A touch thin. Seemingly bland. Drinkable but it’s just like, a stout, man. Could use a little more complexity I guess. Ok.

chinchill (4940) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 4, 2016
nitro stout on tap at Pisgah Brewery (from 2011 notes). A - black with a creamy tab head. Looks like a model for the style. Aroma - pleasant but light and fairly simple aroma of dark roasted malt. T - plenty of dark roasted malt flavor with a touch of hops. There’s a bit of burnt grain and smokiness too. Mildly bitter and slightly sour. There is a hint of coffee in the slightly dry finish. M - creamy smooth, with a rather light body (like Guinness). O - more flavorful American version of an Irish stout.

On tap at Grey Eagle for Andrea Gibson. Loses something with plastic serving cups. Overall solid stout- hits all the right notes and stays somewhat subtle- nothing stands out as promient but chocolate, earthy, roasty malt, coffee, dark caramel and smoke/ Really nice on nitro- drinks super smooth and mellow. Almost velvety. Good, but not nothing outstanding. Certified organic is nice touch.
