The much awaited release of Pisgah's Vortex series has begun. The first offering is a triple IPA weighing in @ 10.8% and 133 IBU. This beer is packed with Chinook and Nugget hops throughout the boil. The refined bitterness within is the trademark our use of whole hop flowers and the aroma is due to 1# of dry hops per barrel for a number of loving weeks. Treat youself with caution!

[email protected] Amber colour, beige head. Aroma is caramel, hops, some grains, mild berryish and floral notes. Flavour is quite much the same, but also has some resin and honey along to it. Also alcohol shows quite well. A quite brutal IIPA.

Leighton (20144) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2016
Draft at the brewery taproom during RBWG 2014. Pours clear, rich orange-gold with a foamy, mostly white head. A fairly dank and resinous DIPA, with ample ripe and chewy citrus fruits, orange, some bready sugars. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Resinous and warming in the finish, with more juicy, chewy citrus fruits. Not bad overall.

Stimmiges IPA ohne grere Besonderheiten. 9/9/9/10/13/10

A: A cloudy amber/copper color with a fluffy white head. S: Very malty, grapefruit, pine, and some floral notes. T: Quite sweet. Good grapefruit flavor comes through despite a lot of caramel maltiness, and a bit of pineapple as well. A decent hop bitterness rounds things out. M: Medium body, fairly high carbonation. Coats the tongue well. D: This beer drinks a bit more like a barleywine than a DIPA, but its still got enough of those IPA characteristics to make it a pretty easy drinker.
