Big candied fruit and vegetables (weird, I know) aroma. Medium sweet with a bit of a phenolic or plastic-y edge to the hop flavor that isn’t really unpleasant. koopa (338) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 25, 2010
Appearance: Dark copper / amber with a massive 3 finger khaki crown that shows loads of retention and lace.
Smell: Caramel malt with lots of floral and herbal hop presence.
Taste: Same as nose. Fairly sweet caramel malt presence which isn’t my particular cup of tea. Good amount of bite and a tiny tinge of alcohol. Extremely well balanced even with this much age on it. Would have loved to try this one fresh.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation and a medium body. A touch sticky but not quite chewy.
Drinkability: The abv holds this one back from a higher drinkability score.

Draft at Pisgah during RBWG. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have orange citrus, pine resin, some sweet caramel malts, sticky at times, hints of spicy hops. Does show the abv a bit. Draft at the brewery taproom during RBWG 2014. Pours clear, rich orange-gold with a foamy, mostly white head. A fairly dank and resinous DIPA, with ample ripe and chewy citrus fruits, orange, some bready sugars. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Resinous and warming in the finish, with more juicy, chewy citrus fruits. Not bad overall. TomDecapolis (4636) - Milton, Delaware, USA - MAR 27, 2007
