3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tosty malts. Some caramel and chocolate. Finish has dry wood and cork taste.
Tap at brewpub. Dark amber pour with a tan head. Light sweet malt with an off aroma and the taste is the same. Watery, this is my first batch of home brew level of quality. My own fault for coming back a 2nd time. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Dark amber, light brown pour with a small off-white head. Nose is roasted malt, chocolate, and a light coffee note. Some toast and toffee sweetness, a fair amount of metal, and water. The metallic note is quite pronounced on the palate. Sweet toffee, toast, and mild caramel. Some chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Draught at the brewery. Tannic, astringent and dry with no malt depth. Yeasty and savory in a weird way. Watery and thin. Tough to finish a sample of.
