COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Just as hot rodders of the 50ís desired more horsepower, our double IPA is brewed with the perfect combination of hops to create a robust, full-bodied beer. Also dubbed the "Flathead- Red" its simple yet aggressive flavor takes us back to a time when things were made with quality and made to last.

Another fruit filled beer here, I'm sensing a theme. It's again good like the others. Orange and grapefruit. Had this as part of a flight at Pismo Brewing in Pismo Beach. Smooth

Bottle shared by beerboxer. Pours clear golden with a thick off-white head and a light floral aroma. There is a hint of malt and a hint of hop bitterness.

A clear orange pour with a white head. Nose is okay with some orange peel, grapefruit, and floral hops. Sweet caramel and sugar aromas, a bit of grass, and mild herbal notes. The flavor is a bit chalky, like a lot of the Pismo beers. Moderate caramel sweetness, citrus hop notes of orange and grapefruit, floral notes, and a hint of pine.

Has some hops in the aroma. Looks incredibly red for an IPA. The flavor is hoppy yet flat. The carbonation level is off. Yet, itís still good. More like an Imperial Red though.

Draft. Amber beer with an off-white head. Floral and grapefruit aroma. Floral and malt flavor with grapefruit. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Floral and grapefruit lingers with malt.

SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - JUN 26, 2011
Draught at the brewery. Hazy blonde color. The cleanest beer of the lineup, which figures considering the anti-microbial properties of all the hops that must have gone into this, even if they donít make the best showing. Fruity yeast stuff going on in the aroma and almost no hops showing up. Lightly malty flavor with a lingering grassy bitterness and astringency. Medium-light body. Not a good IPA at all. Sorry, guys, but this needs a lot of work, as do the other beers.
