Clear amber under a large long lasting fluffy off-white head. Nose is predominantly Brett funk with a good dose of pine and tropical fruit. Light sweet caramel malt supports a big Brett tartness with an equal measure of citrus bitterness with grapefruit taking the fore and a more resinous character appearing in the long finish. Mouth is medium and oily with average carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. While the Brett is quite evident it does not overpower. 8/4-/7+/4/16

Description: Une bière passablement trouble. Un nez de brett intense mais agréable. Une bouche identique avec des brett, de la poussière et de la résine de connifière. Pourt amateur de bière bien sèche.
Note: 8/10

Bottle - Funky and fruity Brett notes. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Funky fruity yeasty and a nice. Solid, but nothing exceptional.

500mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out the brett upfront, followed by piney hops and some citrus. Flavour is along the same lines, with notes of brett and piney hops in great balance. Nicely crafted, not particularly well-crafted, but very tasty. Good stuff.

lupulist (354) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 4, 2016
Pours a hazy orange colour with an off-dry head. Aroma of sweat and funk, with some mango notes. Taste is dry, with brett notes and some light unripe nectarines. Nice.

Oakes (19426) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 4, 2016
Slight haze, light amber. Thin head. Definitely some brett, with some earthy hops underneath and a fair bit of pale malt. Pale malt is fairly prominent, and then the brett comes over top. It’s thin enough from the brett, which lends this good balance. Good stuff.

My Bottom Line:
Aromatic tropical fruit move into coconut conifer needles in this warm, fluffy Wild Double IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A dollop of foam decorates the glistening blond.
-Alcohol heat is a tad too present in the flavour profile.
-Drinkability is very high for such a strong beer.
-Pineapple and passionfruit are very healthy in here.
-This almost drinks like a New World Tripel.
-The resinous bitterness isn’t overwhelming at all, which I appreciate.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2016 Bottle from local iga grocery A: peaches, fruity brett, ripped pineapple, some banana, citrusy, oranges App: clear copper smallish white head good lacing. T/p: med body with short bitter finish. Soft to moderate carbonation. O: Surprised by the fruitiness on this brew. It?s mostly aroma of ripped fruit, interesting. Carbonation is on the soft side I would have expected more. Intriguing but not my favourite of the serie. Good drinkabilty considering the abv.
