Top American style IPA in Quebec! Aroma of citrus, spruce, grass. Orange color, very small light head, almost no sweet, but a heavy bitterness. Creamy texture, and a bitter finish. A very well made IPA. f you like west coast IPA, you will surely enjoy this beer. Bravo Pit Caribou!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Soft caramel and almost buttery sweetness on the nose, malt, soft citrus. Medium bodied, soft and sweet at the start and then hugely bitter very quickly. Big bitterness into the finish, a touch of buttery sweetness again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2016 Bottle from Brou Ha Ha at the farm. Hazy almost opaque amber pour with big puffy white head that sticks. Aroma is juicy resin with biscuit malt. Taste is deep pine resin bitterness with some mild tropical fruit and plastickiness. Palate is rich and heavily carbonated. Really tasty.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Polished veiled dark amber color with a powerful amount of activity. Creamy beige 1 finger head, lasting around 10-15 minutes, with very strong sparkly legs.
Aromas of citrus hops and biscuity caramel. Flavors of orange, lemon, citrus fruits, extra piney, caramel, floral and herbal spices. A little bit sugary but highly sharp. Powerful piney and grassy taste.
Thick full body with prickly carbonation. Strong and long finish, ending with an highly spicy bitter astringent feel and some citrus and piney tongue coat.
Overall a little above average offering a killer look and tons of powerful flavors that are not well executed.
Mostly for the sour freaks with an overly harsh piney and spicy feel, high IBU that calms down when getting room temperature, but still not well balanced; Like pine tar sticking on the tongue. A little off with the freshness with a hint of wet cardboard smell.

A hazed golden amber ipa with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with loads of citrusy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, treacle, light butterscotch, pleasant. On tap at Festibière de Gatineau 2016.

660ml bottle from Dépanneur La Duchesse d’Aiguillon in Quebec City, Quebec. Golden orange in colour with a lingering white head, good lacing. Aroma is of pine, grassy, some citrus and malts. The flavour is of citrus hops, pine and cedar, resinous, grapefruits. Thick mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long with lots of citrus hops. This is a big IPA that has tonnes of flavour. A very good American hopped IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly hazy orange amber with a small lingering off white head. Strong citrus and pine nose with some light caramel and honey. Light toffee sweetness under a big bitterness of citrus and tropical fruits. Floral hints rise as it warms. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation and a long lingering bitter finish. True to the style.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
22oz fresh bomber from Youri Levesque drunk 10/18/15.
Light amber liquid shows very little carbonation building a small white head that is poorly retained. Very clear, nothing on the bottom. Uh oh, seems rather filtered/force carbonated.
The nose contains dank, deep forest-like hop notes pitted against more aggressive grapefruit and pine. Caramel and vanilla in the background show a bit more use of non-pale malts than I’d prefer (ie. any use at all). No alcohol or flaw.
Sure enough, a rather lazy, loose carbonation in the mouth, with a bit too much sweetness, dry toffee and almost sourdough-like maltiness clashing with the resinous, pine and grapefruit laden hoppiness. Iced tea-like flavors and even a passing bit of metal? Doughy yeast notes do not seem fresh or charming here. Caramel, grapefruit, resin. End. Hey Pit Caribou, 2004 called, it wants its IPA back....

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 ml bottle shared by Cuso at Bratislava Tasting, thanks!
Amber, hazy body, with a quite small, creamy, off-white head.
Aroma of grapefruit, pine, resin, orange zest, some biscuit.
Taste follows this, with a pretty strong, dry bitterness.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes very bitter, very dry, zesty, a bit piney, a bit herbal.
Nice one. Lots of fruity hops, but too bitter and dry for me. I prefer it more balanced. Still a very characterful IPA.
