Dark hazelnut color, cappuchino head. Light hoppy aroma. Slightly roasted, hoppy mouthfeel. Oily aftertaste. Maybe "the easiest" to drink of Pivnica Medvedgrad beers.

My Bottom Line:
Prune and toffee are balanced out by roastiness, as cherry angles precede this Schwarzbier’s charred bread crust bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the darkened mahogany.
-The flavour profile is balanced throughout.
-Mouthfeel is quite malty, as seems to be the case for all their lagers (these aren’t anemic lagers, in other words).
-Drinkability is relatively high.

Clear dark red to brown beer (not exactly black). Tick beige rocky head. Aroma is malty, sweet, dried fruits, caramel. MF is a little flat, medium body and somewhat watery texture. Taste is sweet, roasted malts, some red berries. Aftertaste has a little coffee bitterness, caramel and some acidity to keep the beer balanced. Good brew.

On tap at the brewpub in Zagreb, July 2008. Dark brown, almost black with a medium brownish head. Malty aroma with some dust and toffee. Roasted taste with coffee and toffee. Quite good.

pours unclear dark burgundy, almost brown, with a nice tan head offering some retention and lacing. lagering red berry fruitiness, hint of sweetness - burnt raisin purée as well; torrefied caramel, spiced earthiness, fruity and clean yeast action. moderate carbonation, light body, semi-sweet earthy-spicy finish. caramel-driven yet rather complex with berry-like notes in a croatian fashion i suppose - o-k.
