pours unclear dark burgundy, almost brown, with a nice tan head offering some retention and lacing. lagering red berry fruitiness, hint of sweetness - burnt raisin purée as well; torrefied caramel, spiced earthiness, fruity and clean yeast action. moderate carbonation, light body, semi-sweet earthy-spicy finish. caramel-driven yet rather complex with berry-like notes in a croatian fashion i suppose - o-k.

Big bottle from my friend Peter B. Many thanks. dark brown color with thick creamy off-white head. Aroma of dark malt, caramel, dried fruits. Taste, roasted malt, caramel, dark fruits, hints of coffee. licorice, very low hop bitterness, light sourness in finish. Tasty beer.

on tap at the brewpub. very dark brown with a modest head; sweet, coco pops aroma; choc malt milk flavours with light tinny bitterness; a touch sweet for my tastes but not bad

lusikka (7833) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 31, 2015
500 ml bottle @ Exit Club, Dubrovnik. Pours a black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of roastiness, something burnt and syrup. Flavour of toasted malts, sweet syrup, mild bitterness and some grass. Light bodied. Quite rich. Good stuff.

luttonm (6760) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 2, 2012
Draft at the Božidara Adžije location. Darkest brown lager, foamy over-the-top head. Soapy foam nose. Coating, rusty roast. Strong flavor, a touch metallic but otherwise very tasty. Striking roast, but same eggy, sour lactic nose that turned me off their other strong beer. Quite nice overall.

Tap at the Brewpub. Aroma roasted, caramel, light oxidized hops. Clear deep amber to brown colour. Taste is a bit weird. Initially caramel and fruity. Then it turns bitter, but with almost no hops flavour. Also the body is a bit thin.

Comments: A bit weaker flavoured this one. Mild chocolate-marshmallows base topped by faint fruitiness. Okay integration, but shy.

Moderately dark brown color, milk chocolate and toffee in the nose. Well balanced, moderately dry. Lasting coffee and toffee in finish.

I drank this after the mediocre Pšenično Pivo, and it restored my shaken faith in the brewpub. Dark/near black red, with a thick persistant head that left tons of lacing. The aroma was hard to detect, and I got mostly dust and a bit of malt. The taste is really pleasant and full - dried figs, liquorice and chocolate, with no detectable hops .I didn’t note the aftertaste. Good stuff.
