This was my favorite beer from Medvegrad since 2004., rating it only now. Dark brown with orange tint, off white to tan lasting head. Lagerish aroma, hay and malt, hints of roast in the background. Roasty character, malty, caramel, nuts and some chocolate in the finish. Medium carbonation, medium body. A proper example of style. mzaar (3389) - Varberg, SWEDEN - MAY 30, 2016
Bottle @ Beer Garden Supetar. Pours dark brown with a rich off white head. Aromas of chocolate, ash and caramel. Flavours of chocolate, caramel and nut. Nutty finish. Soft texture. Marko (5640) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - JUL 9, 2005
I drank this after the mediocre Pšenično Pivo, and it restored my shaken faith in the brewpub. Dark/near black red, with a thick persistant head that left tons of lacing. The aroma was hard to detect, and I got mostly dust and a bit of malt. The taste is really pleasant and full - dried figs, liquorice and chocolate, with no detectable hops .I didn’t note the aftertaste. Good stuff. TimE (5793) - Tokyo, JAPAN - SEP 29, 2010
Moderately dark brown color, milk chocolate and toffee in the nose. Well balanced, moderately dry. Lasting coffee and toffee in finish. darioklc (760) - Karlovac, CROATIA - MAY 9, 2012
Drank at Pivnica Medvedgrad, Zagreb. Almost black color with brown head. Strong aroma with caramel malt. Overall pretty nice beer not too sour.

Draught at Pivnica Medvedgrad. In my opinion the best of their beers. Surprisingly hoppy aroma with a top layer of grassy hops, under which there are the malty notes - bread, roast and caramel. The dominating aroma elements were the hops and dried plums, especially in the flavour. Light sweet, light bitter. Less dry and more hoppy than a regular schwarzbier. Very tasty! UPDATED: FEB 25, 2015 Draught at Pivnica Mali Medo, 0.5. Caramel taste, nice black/red appearance with medium foam. Overall taste is not bad it it takes to get used to the bitter taste. Mortlach (2335) - Rome, ITALY - JUN 2, 2015
Bottle @Buskers Pub (Rome), shared by ippopotamo36 (thanks Alberto!). Deep brown honey color with a good beige foam. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, some coffee. Flavour is well balanced, roasted notes, little sweet, with a decent bitter end, some caramel. Light body, medium to light carbonation. Nice! MBlessing (1295) - Württemberg, GERMANY - OCT 18, 2015

Pours dark ruby, almost black colour with medium, creamy beige head. Smell of roasted malts, yeast. Subtle chocolate presence.
Medium body with average carbonation. Smooth texture. Taste is nicely balanced, slightly bitter. Aroma of roasted malts and yeast with toffee and caramel present in the aftertaste. Finish is short and mostly dry.
Overall, pretty good and refreshing. I’m definitely picking this one up again.
