Bottle, 0.5 l, 7.5% abv, gift from Medvedgrad Brewpub. Thanks! Pours nice orange-yellow color with average, frothy, off-white head. Hints of acid in the smell, like sauerkraut, maybe some corn. Well balanced hoppy bitterness and malty sweetness with some pine in the aroma. Medium body, average carbonation, malty finish. Sincerely recommended.

The beer has a nice look. The color of the beer is a dark amber, or copper. It isn’t very dark. The beer has a little haziness. A lot of rather large bubles can be seen rising towards the top. On top of the beer they form a nice layer of soft light brown foam, that collapses to leave a nice creamy drape with good retention. The smell of the beer is nice, but a bit simple. Not in a bad way, the smell just has a sense of simplicity. It is nice when your in for a nice drinkable beer, that is better than pilsener or lager. The smell contains some roasted malt aroma’s, caramel, liquorice, sweet malts, slightly acidic hops (not very strong). There is a bit of everything, but non of the aroma’s are very strong. The liquorice touch might be a bit stronger than the others. The taste is pretty much the same. It is simple, but good. There is a nice liquorice touch, malty sweets and slight hoppy bitters. There is also a metal flavour, that is less desirable. The beer has a nice rather strong bitter kick. The finish of the beer isn’t very long, but nice. There are some nice sweeter malt flavours present in the finish. The body of the beer is medium and the beer is quite smooth and soft, even though a medium to high carbonation. All in all, not a bad one.
