Eructoblaster (4371) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 15, 2017
Bottle - 330ml. Very dark brown body with ruby glints and a huge, beige foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with grainy and spicy hints. Its decent malty/hoppy taste carries grainy and some leather/earthy notes. Ends with a fair bitter/roasty finish. Not bad.

czar (9430) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 29, 2017
pours hazy medium dark brown pour with a towering bubbly beige head offering good retention and lacing, feeling rather abnormal. burnt spicy citrus, earthy and piney bitters as well, carbonic acid and soap, brown sugar solids, sweet licorice, other spices, metal, no apparent yeast if not its extra co2; salt. foamy carbonation, light body, semi-sweet yet assertive spicy-piney finish. obnoxious gaz in this seemingly (originally, i suppose) decent croatian black ipa interpretation.

Bottled. An amber beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, bread, and fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

330 ml bottle in "Glam". A bar in Dubrovnik. Pours pitch black with large white head that lasts. Nose is citrus with slight grass. Very little burnt toffee or anything from the roster malt. Taste is licorice, burnt caramel but mainly hop citrus. Solid bitterness that carries through to the back palate. Great example of the Cascadian Dark Ale style. Lovely beer.

My Bottom Line:
This perfumy, almost soapy Black IPA shares pine needles through a nutty, earthy base.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the hazy dark brown.
-Mouthfeel is a tad too effervescent for what I like in the style.
-Caramelized sweetness seems adorned with mushroom-like earthiness.
-Drinkability is reduced by the high carbonation and intense profile.

Bottle.

Bouteille. Interminable amertume. Une fois suffit.
