Bottle shared at a sour tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Cloudy yellow. Pretty smoky aroma, somewhat meaty, with some fruitiness and an oxidation note. Flavor has light sweetness, quite a bit of smokiness, a bit of fruitiness, faint sourness, and a finish with light hoppy bitterness. Light to medium-bodied. ineedbeer (2255) - Oakland, California, USA - JUL 11, 2013
Aroma is moderately estery with notes of red apple cider, pear and banana. There are light acid and smoke notes, but the esters seem to dominate the aroma. Light malt character with hints of phenolics.
Pours a cloudy, dull gold with some light brown highlights. Medium sized white head that recedes fairly quickly.
Flavor starts with some maltiness with notes of wheat and lightly toasted bread. Light acidity, nowhere near as acidic as Berliner Weiss. The smoke hits in the finish and is fairly light but definitely noticeable. Moderate ester notes that trend more towards banana. Light wheat note in finish as well. Low noble hop flavor in late palate with low bitterness.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and a bit watery, carbonation is medium high. No astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall an OK beer, but I wonder how representative of the style this beer is. The esters seem too strong and the smoke too light based on the little reading I have done. Also it could use more hop character. Aniela (4215) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUL 11, 2013

Sampled @ RBESG 13 Grand Tasting. Hazy yellow to orange colour with a small white head. Smells smoked, wheat and banana. Tastes swet and sour, wort, barnyard, corn. Thin to medium body and soft carbo. Scopey (15687) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 6, 2013
Bottle from Charleston Beer Exchange. It pours clear gold with a medium white head. The nose is wheat, light toast, hay, cracker, smoke, cream cheese and ham. The taste is wheat, toast, hay, light sourness, hint of smoke, peach, apricot, pithy citrus and natural yogurt with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth, well-balanced and pretty tasty.

Appearance: Transparent, gold with minimal white head
Aroma: Smoke, honey
Taste: Very subdued; slight smoke, very minimal sourness, light honey
Palate: Very smooth, light body. Slight, cleansing aftertaste
Overall: Very subtle flavors; had a hard time discerning the different flavors, picking up the smoke, etc. Still a good, easy drinking beer.
Bottle @ RBESG’13 Grand Tasting @ De Molen: Served in a Molen taster: Thanks for sharing jfb:
Medium sized white foamy head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer.
Aromas of grains, smoke, sauerkraut, porridge.
Flavours of smoke, grains, herbs, smoked hops.
Aftertaste is a mix of smoke, grains, malts.
Low carbo, soft creamy texture, medium body and a creamy texture.
Bit dull and not much in both aroma and flavour but it’s quite easy to drink. tomhenderson (166) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 2, 2013
Pours light orange with moderate haze. Aroma of sweet malt almost like candy, grainy, hint of smoke. Smoke more prominent in flavor, not so sweet, offset by nondescript hops, a bit of horse blanket sourness blends well with the smoke. Solid mouth feel and light-moderate carbonation. Overall, an interesting beer outside my normal hoppy world. 77ships (11036) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUL 1, 2013
50 cl. bottle sampled @ RBESG 2013. Thx! to jfb. Hazy golden with a creamy white head. Nose is paint, new wood, light smoke, touch acetone, touch paint thinner but not overly brutal, interesting. Taste is sour grains, some leather, sweet spices, mellow sourness, wheat, mellow smoke, touch bread, lightly fruity,… Easy to drink, lightly grainy body. Very easy to drink, interesting, quite lovely. Nice stuff. TheJvd (1321) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 30, 2013
