Cask; Special.
Note: This is the original version, brewed in 2012, before Hopcraft was in operation. The newer version has a significantly diffeent recipe and has a seperate listing.

Gazza did the evening shift down at Pixie Spring of Llantrisant where, with brewer Tom, hopes to have created an absolute monster of a Mid-Atlantic pale ale with well over 100 IBUs and stuffed full of Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo, Magnum, Summit and Galaxy hops!

Bottle at Craig’s . Pours golden amber, quite bitter and dry, light floral taste.

(Cask at King William IV, Leyton, London, 21 Nov 2013) Golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, grass, a touch of resin and biscuity malt. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, mango, grass, biscuits and a generous, slightly resiny, bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Fresh and tasty, with a generous hop presence. Nice one.

cask at cloisters. it's really something...very, very smooth palate but deep hop complexity. crisp but not overly resiny; floral but not too much citrus (thanks, simcoe); cat piss attack up front but release envelope slope quite sharp. the IBUs sneak up on you.

Bottle at home ... golden amber ... thin white head ... soft sweet passion fruit nose ... soft sweet orange ... floral ... and something odd ... not really me

Cask conditioned handpump Cask Pub & Kitchen Pimlico 11/10/12. A slight hop haze to this golden coloured beer with a bright white head. Heavily hopped with a sharp US aroma. Sharp and heavy citricity in the mouth. This is all about the hops but it’s still important that the malts don’t intrude which they certainly don’t here. A long finish. Very good and well intentioned.

Cask-conditioned at the Colston Yard, Bristol 11/10/2012. Deep gold with a slight white head. Big grapefruit and pineapple fruit aroma. Flavour had some solid malts, more tropical fruits and led to a big, dry finish. Very good.

Cask @ CPK. Deep gold with a small off-white head. The nose is big, bold new world hops. Plenty of sweet, punchy peach and mango, sea grass. The taste is much of the same. Bold summery fruits with an aggressively bitter finish. A big syrupy. Notes of toasted tobacco. Slight chalky yeast. Soft body, very drinkable, flavorful. Good work!

Well hopped ale with a significant nose in this respect. Is dry hopped in its taste.
