3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2013 Served on-tap at Al’s of Hampden
A - Pours hazy pale yellow with a small bubbly half finger tall white head leaving small trails of lace down the glass.
S - Smells of fresh apricots, pale malt, bready wheat, a bit of grassy hops and a touch of sweetness from the fruit. The fruit works very well with the wheat base.
T - This one tastes just like it smells. Starts off with a ton of bright apricot sweetness slowly giving way to the chewy wheat and a touch of light hop bitterness. Finish is a mix of wheat and apricot, lingering on the palate for awhile after the finish.
M - Light, refreshing feel with moderate carbonation. The fruit offers a light sweetness, helping to offset the bready wheat.
O - A nice light beer for the coming warmer weather. It packs quite a bit of fruity flavor into a small package. I am still not the biggest fan of this style but if you are not into the bigger beer styles this one may be perfect for you.
Draft at the source. Hazy yellow color, fluffy white head. Nice aroma of apricot, grapefruit. Taste is rich apricot, jammy and fruity. Very tasty. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 19, 2014
Draft. Medium off-white head atop cloudy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, apricot, light bread. Taste is moderately sweet, apricot, some peach, light wheat. Light-medium body, light stickiness. MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 8, 2014
murky honey range, thick head drops to white ring. Cereal grain nose bordering on caramel but high attenuation keeps dry, tons of apricot. Fizzy apricot front is moderately metallic, foamy through bread crust and apricot rind mid before bubblegum sweet esters in the end. Juicy yet sticky in the thin, filmy end, synthetic with papery bitterness. Sperine (283) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 21, 2013
On tap at Al's of Hampden in Enola, PA. This is far more apricot based than Aprihop, but even as someone who does not care much for the fruit, this is blended very nicely and makes for an incredibly drinkable summer beer. Bvdubn (17) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Loads of apricots. Not a huge an of wheat beers but this was fantastic. This would be a really nice summer beer if they canned it.
