Growler. Pours a clear dark amber body under a one finger frothy beige head that faded to a thin film. The nose is clean with some nice chocolate, nutty malt, a gentle roastiness, and a minimal hint of hops. The flavor is much the same, a well restrained sweetness, nice clean toasted and lightly nutty malt. A lingering note of light-roast coffee. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. An excellent, straight forward, clean, and simple beer. A style I wish were more common. callmemickey (4542) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 19, 2015
This is that dark amber shit. Toffee caramel and dark fruits. Medium to full bodied, delicate carbo and rich sweetness. Get your drank on. Travlr (24307) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 9, 2015
Draft at the source. Clear ruby amber color, tan head. Aroma of toasted candied caramel. Taste is toasted fruity biscuit. Nice. conway (2210) - - NOV 30, 2014
Draft. Dark ruby with little head. Dark fruit, earthy and nutty with a strong biscuity malt backbone. A little thin with light carb. Ok. dmac (6209) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - OCT 23, 2012
Draft at the brewpub/restaurant on my to Campground Brewdown. Poured a mostly black body with medium to thinner density foamy beige head that left no lace at all. Aroma was very nice with notes of chocolate, brown toast, wet burnt toast and some dark fruit. Medium bodied with avergae to strong carbonation and a full foamy mouthfeel. Flavor isn’t as good as the aroma with light chocolate, brown toast, dark fruit skins, figs, slight nutts, and touch of Tootsie Rool towards the end. Can’t believe this was an $8.00 growler, by me it would be double that.

Growler shared thanks to Dmac. Pours out a moderate brown color with a small white head. Aroma is of chocolate, light toffee, light earthy smoke and caramel. Taste is complex, nice chocolate, light smoke, earth, slight dried fruits and some lingering toffee, caramel notes. Well done. orangesol (987) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 22, 2012

A - Pours caramel brown with a thin film of white head leaving no lace down the glass. I will chalk this one up to a bad pour.
S - Smells of caramel, lightly toasted grains, and some bready yeast. It had a pretty good smell initially but it faded all too quickly, leaving very little behind.
T - Starts off with some lightly toasted grains quickly giving way to a mix of chewy malt and dulled sweetness. Fairly thin and tasteless initially getting a little better as it sits in the glass. Finish is kinda chewy with some light sweetness, fading quickly from the pallet.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderately low carbonation. Thin, slightly sweet feel that doesn’t stick around for very long.
O - This one was ok. I liked the base flavors and I think it has the makings of a decent bock but it definitely needs some tweaks to bring it together.
Draft. Clear cola-brown body, medium tan head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, some chocolate, light cherry, herbal. Taste is moderately sweet, chococaramel, light cherry, herb. Medium body, some stickiness.
