Growler sent from Matt, thanks man! Poured a golden color with aromas of fresh cut pineapple, tart melon, and some light musk. Flavors are the same light sweet fruit followed by some tartness and lacto. A very nice beer that is extremely sessionable. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - OCT 2, 2013
UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Growler: The color of pirate’s gold, murky and dark with shades of sunburst and orange as well. Even an aggressive pour yields a very small dusting of carbonation bubbles. Aroma contains Sour Patch Kid caliber lactic acid sour notes... some light pineapple fruit juice, lemon juice, and lots & lots of vinegar. Also getting a salt & vinegar potato chip vibe from the nose, too. Taste is canned pineapple juice with eminently more tartness, sour lacto yeast, lemon juice, some light acidity, and a touch of weird, wet cotton-y funk in the finish. Very sour, but not quite as sour as the nose pleads. Bone dry finish, thin with lots of carbonation. Really nice, aggressive sour, though it could use a little more coherence between the flavors. On tap at the new Al’s of Hampden/Pizza Boy Brewing.Opaque gold pour. Super twangy aroma, quite funky, citric, lactic, surprisingly not acetic though. Very fruity acid flavor, but without the acetic notes we usually see in a merican sours. The pineapple is completely gone, but seems to have left only it’s acidity in its wake. Ultra dry palate, puckering. For a palate-raping beer, it’s decent - still would probably not revisit. umich03jm (3512) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - JUL 16, 2013
Shared by tectactoe at tasting. Growler. Pours a cloudy light orange color with a very small head. Interesting aroma of sour pineapple juice, popcorn, and sweet and sour sauce. Taste has a light sweet and fairly intense sourness. Very acidic, salt and vinegar chips, sweet and sour sauce. Interesting beer and another sour that I enjoyed. Maybe they’re growing on me. Bottle: The aroma consists of sweet and sour sauce with pineapple. It pours a hazy dull golden-orange with a few sporadic bubbles that quickly fade to a thin ring. The flavor starts with pine pineapple and some sweet and sour sauce. The finish has moderate lemon, light smoke, and a touch if vinegar. It’s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, it’s kind a strange but still tasty.

A - Pours murky golden orange with a fizzy one finger tall white head, dissipating down to a very light film around the outer edges, leaving little to no lace down the glass. A little dull honestly.
S - Smells of straight vinegar sourness, mild to light barnyard funk, dulled pineapple pulp, damp earth and a bit of greek yogurt. Smells super sour from start to finish. Only a bit of fruit is detectable initially, gets a little better as it warms up but it is mostly just sour funk.
T - Starts off with a big sour fruit kick that never really fades away. Hints of light barnyard funk, vinegar, musty basement and some dulled pineapple fruitiness. Finish is pretty sour, leaving the palate dried long after the finish. The sourness is intense but not as completely overpowering as the nose makes it seem.
M - Medium body with moderate to low carbonation. Super sour feel from start to finish. While it is very sour it doesn’t destroy your palate like some of the other over the top sours do sometimes.
O - Another interesting sour from Pizza Boy. It is really sour yet not to the point of being undrinkable. It could use a little more fruit but pineapple is already on the light side so I am not sure how much more it has to give. Is it a world class sour as these guys are making it seem? Nope. Is it worth a shot if you like sour beers? Yep.
